Luke Matheson will get more England caps than Matty.

He'll probably turn out for Wales or Ireland when he's 28-30.

Maybe you hastened a bit to sell Cash. Barcelona are set to buy Max Aarons from Norwich for 20+10m. That would be truly ridiculous if true.

Aarons is a much bigger prospect though. About 4 years younger and with a year of PL football under his belt.

Still, I find 30m for a 20-year-old right back ridiculous. It's as if football is governed by Monopoly money.

Just been talking to some Villa fans who all said if he keeps up as he’s started they’ve had our pants down big time

I was happy with 16 million plus 4 million in add-ons, but was reminded the reported 16 million deal INCLUDED all the add-ons.

Look at how classy "Wolves reserve" Jota looked in Liverpool team on his debut, and Cash for Villa.... would have been nice to have held out for another 4-5 million. Villa have the money..... they are now raiding Rangers for Ryan Kent. Never did like those arrogant Villa bastards. Being top-6 tonight, will make them insufferable

Don't forget Cash hasn't had to do much defending yet. That said, I think he'll be more than capable. Good luck to him

I watched that Villa game last night and paid special attention to what Cash was doing. He didn't tuck in quite so tightly to the centre backs as he did at Forest which meant fewer five-yard dashes to block crosses.

He also worked worked well in tandem with Villa's right-sided midfielder to deny space down his flank. It's almost as if Villa work on these things in training.

It's early days yet but Cash could come on a bundle under Dean Smith.

Cash was VERY impressive against Liverpool. Working under Dean Smith and with busy midfielders like Grealish and Ross Barkley to feed the ball up to, his talent is really coming through.

The lad gets rave reviews from the Villa fans after every game!!!

Another good game for Cash vs Leicester apparently

81% Pass accuracy
4 Clearances
5 Interceptions
4 Successful tackles
100% Tackle success
100% Aerial success

4 wins on the spin for Villa now, 2nd in the Prem albeit very early days.

Cash rating well again,

Started brightly at right-back once more. Looked to play inside whenever possible to spring a Villa attack. Caught out when he attempted to shoulder-barge Harvey Barnes - only to get it all wrong before fouling the Leicester winger and was booked for doing so. Always an out-ball in the second half and improved.

He looks the same player, playing with better team mates. The movement and ability of Grealish, Barkley, McGinn and Watkins instead of Watson, Sow, Ameobi and Grabban might have something to do with it

I don’t think so... he’s not been as adventurous going forward so the movement thing isn’t particularly relevant.

Defensively , which is clearly what he’s been asked to do first and foremost he certainly looks better. The movement and skills of those players in training has probably contributed to his improvement.
