Excellent.

Feels like that promotion squad that everyone could relate to was a generation ago.

Do you wish it was Hovarth's partners nose being broken by a stray Ojeda shit?

Would certainly be something that made it's way into the 'Unexpected Headlines' thread.

Still think he's opur best option between the sticks, he'll take some scrutiny for last nights goal, but that ball shouldnt be getting anywhere near him if we could defend a set piece.

He's our best option to keep the ball out the net, what that says about the others is another debate.

He did make some good saves - as he always seems to. But Man Utd were firing pretty much everything straight at him.

Personally I think a top level 'keeper should be saving the goal, yes it was a reaction save but it was right at him and went through his legs. But this is the problem with Turner (and I have defended him), he can have a good game but he is always good for a goal.

One thing I would say about Turner is the idea that other clubs aren’t going to be interested in him in summer if both parties decide his time here is done is bollocks frankly. Though I admit we might struggle to make all our money back.

Plenty of MLS teams might fancy having the “USMNT” keeper for a start.

He'll also want the move I'd have thought. Will all depend what division we are in...

(As in him or Sels good enough for the level below but suspect Sels may not fancy that step down whereas it would probably do Turner some good.)

For what it is worth, statistically, in the Premier league, Turner has conceded less per game than either Henderson, Navas or Sels playing for Forest.
You can't argue with stats, last night couldn't fault him, it's only really his confidence and hesitancy the let's him down. If he was less hesitant he would be number 1, the reassurance sels brings to defenders is clear.

You can add poor distribution and lack of presence in the area as things that also let him down, I don't think he's a bad shot stopper but gone are the days where this is all that's expected of the man between the sticks

I still maintain that Turner is ultimately a good goalkeeper. He's got his faults for sure but when his head is right he's more than capable. Definitely a confidence player, to coin a phrase.

In an ideal world, he'd have been given a prolonged break when his crisis of confidence occurred - was just unfortunate for all concerned that Vlachodimos was absolutely hopeless so Turner had to be thrown back in.

Regardless of Turner, Vlachademos being as bad as he is was a nightmare. Awful.

Was just watching a documentary on David Seaman and the key attribute that everybody mentioned about him was "presence". His teammates had trust in him whatever the situation and he just calmed everyone down.

Turner obviously has anti-presence because it feels like a general panic is about to break out whenever the ball is near him.

He was ok last night, some good saves, but iffy kicking again.
And I can't help but think he should've been off his line as soon as he realised the ball was coming in hard and flat. Casemeiro should've been expecting to lose his head to score that goal.
I also agree that Tony shouldn't have given the foul away and Danilo should've cleared it. But that doesn't excuse Turner either.

For the first time since he has played, I will say that he had a good game. Made the saves, the goal was not his fault and kicking was better. Still not a number 1 but has improved and MAY not turn out to be the turnip we all thought he was. Count Vlad however needs to be thrown into the darkest pit in Mansfield
