You can't argue with stats
Was the games played home or away?
Who was the opposition?
Who was playing for the opposition?
What form were the opposition in?
What formation were the opposition playing?
Was Forest playing off the back of a short or long week?
Likewise for the opponent?
Who was playing for Forest in these games?

There's a bunch of variables that let you argue the stats, I am sure I have just scratched the surface too. We aren't talking about season long sample sizes either so like I said, the stats mean the square root of f all.

Still think he's opur best option between the sticks, he'll take some scrutiny for last nights goal, but that ball shouldnt be getting anywhere near him if we could defend a set piece.

He's our best option to keep the ball out the net, what that says about the others is another debate.
Exactly in a lot of cases onana, di gea included in this. Goalkeepers take the brunt of fallout for poor defence/midfeild. I personally think Turner needs to develop a thicker skin as you can physically see his nerves when he is under pressure

The variables even them selves out over a number of games. Stats for single matches versus another match, yes the variables need to be taken into account, but 20 matches and you can reasonably say based on stats someone quality or lack off.

You can add poor distribution and lack of presence in the area as things that also let him down, I don't think he's a bad shot stopper but gone are the days where this is all that's expected of the man between the sticks
Not gonna lie his hesitancy is his main downfall. Then again would we have got a keeper that didn't have flaws for that price?

I can’t recall any other player getting booked for us whilst still on the subs bench.
Was Turner the first to manage this feat?

Julian Bennett managed this at Swindon. I think it was the day (one of the days?) there when it just hammered down with rain all game. IIRC, one of their players tried a shot along the ground which beat our goalie but the ball got held up in the mud and we were able to clear it. Bennett was warming up and apparently took the mickey out of their fans who had thought they’d scored and over came the ref with his yellow card at the ready.

I was at the County Ground that day, I remember it well!

Bloody depressing place to go and watch Forest lose, plus afterwards I had to drive all the bloomin way to Crewe for a Birthday do AND my pre-match pint and pie gave me the shits so I spent most of the evening on the lav

Christ those League One days were grim!

Fulham were trying to take a free kick about 18 yards further forward if I recall.
Yes - for an offside that wasn't iirc.

That linesman last night was dire - couldn't keep up with play so let two or three clear offsides play out, then gets his flag up quicksharp when a deflected shot ricochets to a player onside in the first phase.

I don't understand what they do these days - automate it and give me two less idiots to get pissed off about.

Was that the day we lost 2-1 and ‘scored’ all three goals? I remember being on the open away terrace at the end with our fans in the seats at the side taunting us with “Getting wet…”. And several of our fans wearing bin liners they’d hastily bought near the ground to keep at least some of the rain water off themselves. Or am I conflating two or more games there?
