Seems like we've been linked possibly to make the Blunts feel like they've gained some kind of victory over us "Beating us" to the signing.
In truth if Everton are prepared to let him leave on loan or permanently then it seems likely that they do it to a team that they don't see as a threat to them, if he's going there then it seems like they're probably not in any way worried about Sheff United staying up or are trying to worsen their chances by sending a player that started for them 4 times, played in 8 games total and was never on the winning team.
Hes not for us, in my view he wouldn't be picked ahead of Cook who isn't likely to be in our 25.

Wouldn't have minded him as cheap back up to see if Cooper could have gotten more out of him than Everton have (given that Everton are notorious for being a place where promising careers go to die), but I don't see the point in signing a back up defender on loan. Sheffield United are welcome to this one.

I think these rumours show we're now in the realms of agents using Forest's name to force negotiations along. Given the people we've signed I find it hard to believe we ever had any interest in him.
