Marcus McGuane

It’s a promising start for the young man, let’s hope his loan to Oxford is a success, and he comes back to Forest a more rounded and accomplished player.

Re: Marcus McGuane

There often is a re-call option.

Think there is but both clubs and the player have to agree it. I remember all the fuckery when we had Hobbs and Hull recalled him...

Karl Robinson on McGuane's performance :

I thought Marcus was just a power house in there.

He oozes so much power and pace, he was a real joy to watch.

Re: Marcus McGuane

I'm not sure at all and someone can correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there some rule whereby you can't sign a player for the U23s and then use them in the first team straight away because of FFP either not counting or being relaxed for academy signings?

Re: Marcus McGuane

I’m in no position to judge yet as I haven’t really seen him play, but from what I’m hearing this guy could be a real prospect pretty soon. I just hope when the time’s right (next season?) the club is really on the up and going places.

Re: Marcus McGuane

Some people getting quite excited after one appearance in a friendly for Oxford.

Quite possible that he isn't as good as people hope.
But then again he could be better!
And if we can't get excited about a new player, what can we get excited about?

I got excited today as I had a processed cheese slice sandwich for the first time in years. If you can get genuinely excited by a cheese slice sandwich I suppose you can get excited about most things.

A true guilty pleasure.
And what differentiates a slice of cheese from a hunk of cheddar from a processed cheese slice?
Surely cto make cheddar milk and milk fats go through lots of processes...
So really a slice of cheddar is actually a processed cheese slice.

I know I'm in danger of sounding like some old school rinky dink Baseball scout, but he just 'looks like a player'... the kind of guy we see come to the City Ground playing for WBA or Norwich and tear our midfield a new ringpiece.

So encouraging. Given that Barichou and Yates looked out of his depth against a side who were very nearly League One we may well have loaned out the wrong player!!

Re: Marcus McGuane

Was pretty pap against Posh yesterday.

His not always played been on the subs bench. But has got a few assists, I think the fact oxford are in a relegation fight by the looks of it may affect his progress. In hindsight with watson going to charlton should have sent him there atleast he could have learnt a thing or 2 off him
