Matt Davies's article made me laugh in the post. A Nottingham post article accusing Talksport of clickbait.... Let that sink in a Nottingham Post journalist accusing another media organisation of click bait saying it was an unhealthy obsession. The Post is the master of click bait, so many articles that tease you in with a headline.

They're all ****s.

Hopefully we'll shut the lot of them up with our football.

Exactly. And if Lingard gets us moving forward and creates in 1/3 of games he will be worth it.
I find the criticism of him baffling-I thought we’d moved on from outrage about how much footballers were paid 30 years ago and it smacks of a personal agenda against the lad. As far as I’m aware he’s not been convicted of crimes or linked with genuine inappropriate behaviour so the whole attitude and atmosphere from talksport is baffling and unsavoury
To be fair footballers are paid too much and I don't think that belief has ever gone away it's just that folk got bored of making the argument considering it wasn't going to change. Jesse Lingard joining a newly promoted side earning 4x the average annual salary in a single week is frankly ridiculous.

But that's not a Forest problem. That's a Premier League problem.

Let them keep talking nonsense on their irrelevant radio show. It just shows how desperate they are when their only content is to latch onto a story like this, add their own narrative and milk it for days on end

Meanwhile the supposed selfish, greedy and unprofessional player took time out of his day to show his face to the U11s

TBF this is propaganda.

Why is JL wearing a matchday top at the training ground? Because this was a set-up for media purposes.

Personally, I don't care that they're doing it. But let's not pretend this situation happened accidentally.

He had a camera following him FFS.

I believe Darren Fletcher was doing something with him for Football Focus

Exactly there is a lot of PR here stop making footballers out to be angels they are just as calculated as the media. All this stuff like Lingard's, in my opinion self absorbed reveal video after he signed is all white noise to me. All I care about is his actual personality where his professionalism and training is concerned and the best source I have for that is Stuart Pearce who is proper good bloke that is the closest thing to football professionalism that I know of and he said Lingard is a cracking lad, always goes to training with the right attitude and is a top professional. Thats what I care about and that'll do for me not the social media PR that "Jlingz" pumps out that comes across as self absorbed. I am far more interested in the boring day to day Lingard and he is professional by all accounts so bring him on. Cant wait to see his stupid celebration after he scores his 10th of the season 😂

It is literally media day. Where they take all the pictures for the Prem graphics, do all their own images for gifs etc and do interviews.

They probably saw them shouting him and starting recording.

Jesus. It's not that deep.

Joe Worrall on TS (I know, I know) re: Lingard......"it's absolutely buzzin' to have him at the club".
Not surprised. A lot of talk about how the signing of Lingard would upset the changing room because of his wages, but I'd imagine the squad (mostly made up of young lads who have never played in the Premier League before) are excited to work with an England International who has played (and scored) in major cup finals for Manchester United.

But Richard Keys said Joe and the boys would hate him and he clearly knows better than the actual squad.

I was literally suggesting it was shallow, mediated content.

But hands up, the media was there for media day. So an accident happened.

Not a personal pop, but jeez we're a fickle bunch aren't we? On the one hand we are taking a pop at the media arm of the club for not doing enough and that they need to up their game and then we complain when they use opportunities to publicise the club and the structure and even the environment/DNA of the club...

Watching that video I saw JL super relaxed, happy, natural and offering some time to those kids - imagine what an experience that is for an 11 year old, part of the forest academy, at the ND academy and getting to see, speak, share a moment with someone who must be a inspiration to them and them seeing such a player at "their" club. Honestly, that's beautiful to see and it's great to see the players give time and consideration to the kids, it's little things like that which inspire and motivate the next generation, and it's also beautiful to see that kind of culture, connection, openness and role model approach within our great club.

So much there really shows how it is to be part of NFFC and long may it continue and thrive so that we re-establish ourselves in the top league.

We have secured the services of a genuine class player, who will attract revenue through the marketing opportunities he brings.
FFS, we are in the loony bin that is the Prem.
If we we don't join in the looniness we'll miss out on much needed revenue.
Particularly if we are paying AR £400k per week :)

Actually, I wasn't having a pop at JL

As I said in the post, I'm not personally bothered by it.

The issue I had was with the idea that it was somehow organic, which was how it was presented.

But he was being filmed.

To stress, I don't have an issue with him being filmed.

I have an issue that anything that is being filmed is somehow real and that we're supposed to take it at face value.

I would take everything you see in/on the media with a pinch of salt.
There is no reality out there.
All is fiction...

On the other hand he looks pretty genuine doing these things. He doesn't fake a persona he isn't.

NFFC is seriously discussed and envied. Haters gonna hate. And by watching and reading them it looks they hate a lot.

I like him a lot. A lot. He smiles and looks like enjoying his decision. We take things more seriously than they are.

Let's play some ball
