So all this stuff about wanting to be close to his family was nonsense after all then
Not sure how you can come to that conclusion.

He's in a very different situation now than he was 18 months ago when he made that choice.

Specifically, that he actually had choices back then.

I suspect his choices might be narrowed by his wage demands. I cant imagine SK was his only option if he wanted a sensible wage

Surely a championship club would want his excellent dressing room input at least

This might be region-locked but the gate which he will arrive at Incheon Airport is live right now 😂
Oh look he's here, the crowd has gone absolutely crazy 🤣

He already has had quite of a meme following (especially because ManU has always been the most watched team here, for obvious reasons), with nicknames like "Emperor Lingard" or "Jesse 'the Football' Lingard", I'm not making this up!

You know what, in fairness to the lad, he was a good presence to have around the squad last year. He kept the spirits up and seemed like actually quite a nice guy. It's a shame he was brought here as a footballer and not as part of our social media team, because he was f***ing useless on the pitch. :ROFLMAO:

Fair play to him for getting a move like that, hope it works out for him and they make a fuss of him. Although the boy has always had some questionable direction from those around him, he went to Derby ffs.

Seoul's first home game of the season was against Incheon United. Known as the Kyeongin derby, it's one of the most bitter rivalries in the league.
51670 seats all sold out to see the dancing guy! The game? 0-0.
Did he play much of the game?

Subbed on in the 30th minute because the team was doing too bad. Made a good pass but his teammate blew it.
Then he skied a huge chance, but the grass was too s**te because of the Jamboree last year(which was also s**te).

Overall, everyone played terribly! Wasn't the most enjoyable game for a league record audience(biggest since 2013 when promotion/relegation was introduced).

While it was 5AM there in Nottingham, I watched him play today! 😅

FC Seoul vs this season's champions Ulsan.
It was the last home game of the season, there were 37,000 people inside a huge 66,000 capacity World Cup stadium.
Apparently they broke the league record by reaching more than 500,000 home attendance in a season.
Thanks to the rise of international players, even domestic football seems to be getting more popular here these days.

To say Lingard is popular here would be an understatement.
He's the centre on every banner, and half the shirts I saw had his name on it.
There was even a plushie! 😂

And there he was on the pitch, the number 10 and captain.
He scored! Seeing the entire stadium chant his name out loud was quite an experience.
That was some amazing atmosphere from the home supporters! (look closely and there's a Lingard flag)
