'He still needs to learn a lot about the fundamentals of football and the defensive side of it if he is going to be a top class full-back,'

that doesn't speak too well for the lad , sounds like a gary charless , loves to go up to attack but then doesn't bother to come back to defend.

If you watched him in the 115th minute of Exeter's 2nd leg you would see he was like a machine getting up-and-down and he made some crucial tracking of runs.

Not saying that side of his game is perfect but he has the raw attributes and enough good sides of his game to keep contributing and learning at the same time.

Didn't Lascelles look a bit out of his depth with Stevenage at times according to reports? I think you look for potential rather than the finished article at this stage.

Don’t pay to much heed to this.

It’s just a manager trying to stop a talented youngster getting complacent.
I would guess that he actually rates him very highly.

Chat quite a bit with one of the @insightmrkt lads involved with stats in football and have various jobs in world football.

I'm not allowed to post the graphic but they are extremely impressed with the amount of effective ball carries he made last season as a 19 year-old playing out of position.

It basically details full-backs and wing-backs in the football league last season. Expected Threat with passess to Expected Threat with carries.

Cash and Yuri are in the same quadrant but not as far to the right with ball carries as Jayden. That is what you expect and he said that Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis had similar stats in their first season in professional football.

Really encouraging.

f*** it, if Cash goes then just play him. Give him a chance. If he doesn't take it try Gabriel. If that doesn't work out try Darikwa. If that doesn't work either, go to market in January.

Yeah I agree with this. Even if cash leaves we still have four RBs on the books - no way we can carry five in the squad.

Last time I watched Jayden was over two years ago and I thought he was good enough then.

I would dearly love for us to back Jayden above CJ and TD. He's good enough imo. I think if Sabri can get some of the fundamentals of defending, we'd end up being worried about losing him in a years time.

I just want the window closed so bad, so we know for sure what the situation is going to be.

I agree, he looks promising. Let’s give him the same opportunity we gave Cashy (if he leaves).

I'm still here Crewton
Just out of interest does anyone know who's played right back in the friendly games? It was great to sit close to the coaching staff last pre-season and listen to them constantly telling Cashy where to be. I wonder if we've got a surprise lined up this year?

Has had an ankle injury but is back in full training according to Paul Taylor. There is a growing list of clubs interested to take him on loan if he becomes available.

he's still only 18 i think, another loan spell will do him good, cash loan spell with dagenham helped his development.

I like the look of Richardson, but the bits I have seen of him suggest he still needs more experience, so fair play.

Just hope we've a recall clause in if needed.
