At one time we seemed to have a load of players with sleeve tattoos, I think it was under Davies II. Kat Von D was probably head of recruitment, “he’s got a decent sleeve, sign him, he’ll be good”...

but it's so chavvy. Best without it.

Whole club was a lot more rock n roll back then

Now it's f***ing pure Europop trash :weep:

Are you saying Andy Cole wasn't a footballing colossus when he was here?!

Well, he was certainly colossal.

And it was Lee Martin I was thinking of not Luke Chadwick. Lee Martin, a player so memorable I can't even remember his name!

I think Martin is at Exeter City now.

Him and Stewart were both f***ing dreadful. At a time when you could practically point at random at a Man Utd kid and he’d be a decent loan addition, we managed to pick two of their shittest ever products.

Michael Stewart was genuinely the worst player I’d ever seen play for Forest until we went down to league one (and we had a whole squad of them).

Lee Martin scored a decent goal for us against Watford from memory.

Can't remember Michael Stewart doing anything good.

Yes he did, it was a wonder goal. I think it was his home debut?

After that goal, he became a showboating p***k, who thought he was bigger than he was.

My dad was working on the caching staff for NFFC at that time, my father often mentioned Martin walked 'round the place like a peacock strutting his stuff.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't Roy Keane take him to at Ipswich?

Re: James Garner

Ah the old false equivalence.

That's an argument that can be thrown at any subjective observation, so in reality means sweet FA. If you take this argument to the nth degree in this sense you're effectively saying that it's impossible to compare one player to another because they're individually different. But does kinda make you sound smart. Well done.

Did he play in front of, deeper than, or next to Cafú?

Re: James Garner

One of the best Forest debuts in a while, and importantly, he's the first Forest player to look comfortable in the deep lying play maker role since Watson left. Hopefully, he will become a regular in our midfield between now and the end of the season.

Re: James Garner

Looked a bit lost in the last 20 minutes. Didn't seem sure if he should dig-in or stand-off. Apart from that, looked very composed and seemed ready to the ball forward to a red shirt.

Deeper most of the time, Though Cafu was wandering all over and not really in the game.

Yates and Garner is gonna be a very formidable championship midfield 2, imo.

Re: James Garner

Agree with the Watson paralells. garner seemed to pop up in the right place at the right time defensively & looked adept at short & long range passing.

He plays with Colback in my midfield though.
