Got to be worth a shot. We have no money so this is great news.
I may be in the minority but I bloody loved him. He is a monster, and could be great alongside Miller - I wouldn't like to mark them.
Hopefully he will surprise people (if he is signing!)

It does make you wonder who is going to be moved on.
If we've offered Marlon a contract, then surely agreements must be in place to sell/give away/shoot one or more of our hapless forwards?
Or maybe someone else?
One thing - if true - it does prove that maybe the club, for once, are getting their fingers out and getting some deals done early rather than the usual faffing about until the end of January, upon which time nothing happens.

A hungry lower league player who's unlikely to score goals at this level (with no service!) or a player who scored goals in the Premier league last season whose best days are behind him.

The current rumour doing rounds in our circles, (we're all connected it's a small town really after all) is we are shipping George Botox lol off Jan anyway cause we can't afford to pay his wages any more, so will we really after shipping him off pick Marlon up unless he is a free and taking nearly FA or min wage out of the coffers?

With the state of our midfield, boateng would actually be useful right now. He plays with passion, and at least moves around which is a massive step up from our current midfield

He's been training for a week at least so SC has had time to have a half decent look at him. It's a 6 month deal so financially it makes sense and allows us to ship out the likes of McGoldrick/Derbyshire who I imagine are on fairly handsome salaries.
Last I saw of him was at Blackpool on the opening day last season and he scored two against Wigan I believe?
