GOAL OF THE SEASON award - Stephanie Roche

The only thing a world class defender would have done there is to take her legs out from under her.

In which case she wouldn't have scored......

You could say the same about the Rodriguez goal too. In fact most great goals could have been stopped if a defender hacked them down deliberately.

My favourite all-time deliberate hack to prevent a great goal was Benjamin Massing's on Claudio Caniggia. However great a goal that might have been, the hack was better.

Why does the ref show him the red then book him again? I mean, the foul probably deserved more than a red card, but... :dunno:

Where's me hammer?
What makes me most mad about that clip is the dirty argie bastards trying to step on his foot.

Does anyone know how you vote on this thing?

Can I urge anyone who does vote to vote for Stephanie Roche for the goal below.
This is not just a good goal it's absolutely fuckin brilliant level of skill - cushions it on her right foot, taps it over her head with the outside of her left foot and volleys it in, again with her left.

It's like childbirth. If it was that hard they'd have got a bloke in to do it.

And her shorts aren't tight enough.

Decent goal but really not that special given the level. I score worldys every now and again at 7-a-side, but I'm hardly under much pressure. I also send plenty sailing out of the cage and have to peg it round to go get it.
James goal given the stage and occasion wins for me.

As for the goal... It's a thing of absolute beauty, there's no doubt about that. Granted it isn't the best quality of defending she's up against, having said that would any of us have moaned that Osborn was up against Spurs' reserves defenders if that shot had gone in?

As good as Stephanie Roche's goal was, I think Cox's goal against Birmingham in 2012 was better -

I had a season ticket in the Pye corner the season this was scored so I didn't get a great view of the goal. At the time I thought the ball had bounced and his first touch had just controlled it on its way back up, then I saw it on FLS that night and almost shat myself

Right in front of me, I went mental.
