Does anyone know how you vote on this thing?

Can I urge anyone who does vote to vote for Stephanie Roche for the goal below.
This is not just a good goal it's absolutely fuckin brilliant level of skill - cushions it on her right foot, taps it over her head with the outside of her left foot and volleys it in, again with her left.

It's FIFA thing, so an envelope stuffed full of cash left in the appropriate safe deposit box should do the trick.

Agree entirely though, and that's taking nothing away from the two World Cup goals it's up against.

The other two on the list were scored against world class defenders and keepers, in my opinion that makes a big difference. Not suggesting her goal wasn't good, but the best goal in the whole world all year?

I agree the stage and the context are important, otherwise my goal in the County Cup in 1989, instant control and a sweet volley from 25 yards, should have been nominated for goal of the season.

I don't think any world class keeper would have saved that.

It gets my vote.

Absolutely. I had James' goal on repeat for a few days it was that good, but Roche's goal is on another level. It deserves to win.

It was down the park.

See in most cases people would just be wanting to vote for her goal because it's different, it's not from a high profiled player or necessarily on a big stage, but hers is genuinely the best one.

When we scored those two goals at West Brom within a couple of minutes of each other I stood there and said "these goals aren't great lads because that's a Championship defence". Fools jumped on top of me in celebration.

Same with Pearce's free-kick at Old Trafford in 1990. I said to my mate who was going ape at the time "whilst it is good that we have just scored, you do realize history will prove that this current United side this is not a patch on the one they will have for roughly the next twenty years and so we should temper our enjoyment of this only quite nice goal accordingly.

Whilst trying to view the goals, I somehow managed to vote for James Rodriguez  Although if you view on Chrome and then IE it will let you vote twice as I've just found out....

The only thing a world class defender would have done there is to take her legs out from under her.

Wes Morgan would have volleyed it in himself.

It isn't actually dissimilar to the rather splendid goal he scored against County in the Cup!
