Agree, but it was a bit strange to see Origi come on and play on the right wing with Elanga moved to the centre - would have been interesting to see Reyna instead at RW (or at LW with CHO switched over). But then Origi flicked the ball out to Neco for the clincher, so what do I know.
Oh im absolutely in favour of seeing what he's about he looks a really interesting player but the reaction from them made me laugh
But also the whole loan think without option to but makes it a but pointless other than injury cover if the current choices are playing well and will be staying going forward

We have a weekly TV show millions of people watch or at least used too named ‘Soccer Saturday’ so I’m not sure why people get offended by the word.
Indeed; If you say the words „Jeff Stelling“, two of the next three words you would hear would be „Soccer Saturday“.

(the other one, of course, would be „Unbelievable!“)

Annoying though the term can be to many amongst us GP, "soccer" goes back to Victorian times in this country to differentiate between association and rugby football. That probably explains why as a young boy in the '50s I religiously read a weekly magazine entitled "Soccer Star", and as an adult in the '70s along with my two oldest boys I would regularly watch a Midlands-based highlights show on a Sunday afternoon called "Star Soccer", which IIRC aired well into the '80s.

What I'm trying to say is that it wasn't conjured up by Americans to replace football and, quite frankly, it's not worth getting worked-up about.
Oooooooohhhh... look at the big brain on Brad!

Don't overthink it, it's just a well-known quote from a very popular film that is vaguely relevant to your informative post :D
I know full well where it's from, so there's no need to patronise me. I don't doubt that I'm a bit too dim to realise the vague relevance though, so please educate me......

I'm sorry if it came across as patronising, wasn't meant to be. My assumption was that he was referring to it being an educated and well-informed post, that's all. I.e. somewhat tenuous relevance, but that's on him, not you 🙂

I wonder if we cooled on this once they removed the buy clause at the last minute, but it was toolate to look at replacements for cover.

Doubt it. We need points to avoid losing £80m next year, we just need to play our best team regardless of their contractual status.

It's almost like he's a signing that was foisted on the manager rather than one the manager wanted.

Not that we'd ever do something like that of course.

So it's all on Nuno for signing someone he doesn't play?

Almost. I think the playbook is that the owner leaks to the Athletic that it was a Nuno signing and that Nuno really pushed for it to happen, and then when the manager is really under pressure then we fans get to talk about 'his' transfer signings and half of us decide he's a bit out of his depth, so don't complain when the Athletic follows up with stories about his job being under threat.

If Awonyi and Wood are both injured, Origi will have to play up front which might give Reyna a spot on the wing (personally I'd stick with CHO).
