First Team Squad
As he's selected to play in the heart of their midfield every week, I just assumed he's fully recovered?
As I've posted previously a Boro friend of mine tells me he's playing very well right now, hopefully he's close to full fitness. He'll have a part to play in the Championship next season.

Unless of course Nuno considers O'Brien worthy of a PL squad place here next season?

Hard to judge someone when they’ve only had a handful of cameo appearances.
Very true, but with where we were when we signed him, shouldn't we be loaning players able to help keep us up, and thus not be restricted to cameo appearances?

I'm thinking of players like Nicky Shorey, Kris Boyd & Robbie Blake who, once they have a few games playing to get game fitness back into their legs, contribute significantly to our then objective?

I get what you mean and in general I agree - I think with Reyna he was literally only signed in case we lose MGW for a long period of time as he is more a like for like replacement than anyone else in the squad.

It's also a little easier to find players who can make an immediate impact in the Championship than it is in the Premier League.

But everyone knows that.

Judging by the selection of players for matches, I'm somewhat sceptical about this "plays well in training" stuff. The team selections for this season have bordered on bizarre sometimes. Surely players aren't that haphazard in their training?

I agree H - insurance.

Honestly?

Shit.

I don't get the clamour for him to be in the 11. He lets opposition players just jog past him with the ball, literally yesterday one of their defenders carried the ball 20 yards on the half jog with Reyna about 3 yards away and no tackle.

He looks OK on the ball but he chooses safe options all the time. He doesn't make anything happen when he's got the ball: No incisive final third pass, no taking players on.

Proper luxury player. He reminds me of Krovinovic in what he brings to the team and the forum's clamour for him.

There might be a player in there but he's either not suited to the physicality of the PL or isn't bothered about playing for Forest, or both.

Spot on for me, the more he plays the more dissappointed I am with his contributions. The "safe option" sums him up perfectly, zero creativity with this player, he's offering nothing.

When MGW showed something at the base, I originally contemplated Reyna in the advanced role, but not anymore, he looks bang average.

Id take Krovinovic every day of the week, cracking player, looked after the ball as well as anyone we've had in donkeys years.

I've seen enough to know why he's not getting a look in at Dortmund. Very comfortable player but unfortunately comfortable also sums up his entire game and demeanor. He can almost certainly look after the ball but he's far too safe in everything he does, there's no zip about him and a just don't see any creativity in him at all.

If those batshit crazy USMNT fans think he's the next world beater from the USA they've got another thing coming. He's not a premier league type of player that's for certain.

It’s far too early to say. If he was ours I’d say give home more time. As he isn’t, and never will be just have him on the bench.

The wrong type of game for him today, I thought. Then again, it was the wrong type of game for almost every Forest player.

CHO, MGW and Elanga had zero success too. It was a scrappy game where dribbling and creativity was never going to win.

Against Dyche, you need to be smarter. But also stronger (physically).
