Financial Fair Play (FFP)

They are saying they will get 2 points.
They have already been deducted for 2 years of the 3 year cycle
Only 1 year @ 2 points per year

So if we get 4 deducted can we only be done for the one year we were actually in the premier league so it’s reduced to 1.33 deducted. Easy.

Everton have worked themselves into a shoot big time with it all. I can see what it’s done to our fans and forum in two months, imagine this going on for years!

I would have thought by any logic that you don’t get punished per year in a 3-year cycle, that would be ridiculous?!

You get a set loss amount per three year rolling cycle, and if you break that three year rolling cycle you get a punishment.

So if you break year 1,2, and 3, you get a punishment.

If you then break 2, 3, but not 4, however you still break over the three years - that’s another punishment.

If you break 3, but not 4, or 5, however you’re still over the three years - another punishment.

Everton chose to delay their case which should have fallen into an earlier season, so that is the bright into this year.

Then if they’ve broke the next three year cycle, another punishment. Which should be punished in isolation from to others, however maybe increased with them breaking the rules for back-to-back years.
Everton knew how much they had broken the last couple years so therefore knew what they needed to do in order to balance out the 3-year cycle (with sales/revenue) so it feels like they only have themselves to blame and why further punishment may be warranted. Same for Forest, they either balanced it out or they didn't moving forward and that will be on Forest.

Everton‘s avoidance was deliberate.

Forest‘s avoidance was more incompetence.

I think you're overcomplicating it. Forget which of the 3 years is in breach. Each year a 3 year period is considered and if you breach the combined allowable losses over the relevant 3 year period you breach. That's how a rolling period works.

It works in favour of all clubs as it gives added flexibility to make up for losses in one year over the other two. The other (simpler yet harsher) option would be to simply assess each year based on the previous 12 month period. That would be very strict so all clubs would welcome the rolling approach. They can't start claiming double jeopardy now.

Huh. Four points, and Forest will appeal. So, maybe might get a point or two back, hopefully.

Could have been worse, but drops them into the bottom three.

We'll stay up, then have our appeal heard and get docked more points, relegating us.

It‘s the Forest way!

4 pts isn't bad.

Appeal it - possible 2 back? Who knows.

2 big home games coming up

That gives us a target now. We need two more points than Luton over the next 9 games (wouldn't want to rely on goal difference). So we probably need 10 points. Going to the wire.
