I still think we'll get hit with six points.

It's the easiest thing for the panel to do given them there's no difference between us and Everton.

It still keeps us within one game of Luton so we can't act like the deduction alone sent us down either.

We might be-but we’ll definitely appeal (thereby possibly extending the final table beyond the end of the season).

I'd tell them verbally we'll agree not to appeal with a 4 point deduction and then appeal it anyway. Absolutely nothing the PL to stop that happening. Appeal processes are there for very good reasons to review and adjust for errors in judgement, process, fairness and potentially new evidence.
This, but in bigger letters.

Am I right in thinking this would be the first time a club will receive a points deduction in the same season they broke the PSR limit? Everton were punished a year late and stayed up because of it.

I wonder if that would be a viable line of argument for a suspended sentence?

If the Johnson sale is effectively backdated by the PL commission it would cause an explosion at next exec meeting as clubs such as Palace, Everton etc have sold players on 30 June to squeeze in profits in an earlier year

Doesn’t sound promising 🙁

Yeah well maybe they can all console themselves with the fact they’re literally changing the rules to stop everyone else from getting stung next season.

I think we are past that. If we were able to backdated the sale we wouldn't have been charged.

The only way we use the Johnson deal is as mitigation and to show our financial viability.

I think a penalty this season might be better than next year. The bottom 3 are weak and I'd still fancy us to get enough points, unless it's a huge deduction.
