"Nottingham Forest Are Premier League"
Whether we agree with the fairness of the rules, they were the rules and most can accept we technically breached them.
The club's arguments about not having PL history and paying out unexpected promotion bonuses are thin at best. Had the Atletico bid been accepted, Forest may have had an argument to allocate the eventual revenue to 22/23, but they actively chose not to accept the bid, fully aware at the time the revenue would have made the difference.
By any measure and given the previous internal warnings, that's reckless and totally unacceptable. The seeming lack internal discussion to what should have been a critical warnings and the continued expenditure on new players is a failure of governance that we should have left in the past.
