In the spirit of giving credit where its due, well done to Christie today at Cardiff. Even though he has a long way to go to convince me he's worth keeping there is no doubt he's starting to look like a right back now and today he played really well-didn't let gaps appear, did the hard 1:1 defending and gave no change-sod the crossing, keep this up. The good thing is it shows CH can work and improve a player even of his age and stage which is very reassuring given what he will have to work with going forward!

He's been better the last 6 games or so but if football manager is to be believed then I wouldn't keep him on his wages.

Really good going forward, but switches off defensively and he's a defender. We can do better. He also has form for improving at the end of the season and getting a transfer then coasting again. I guess the debate is whether Hughton can get him to focus.

That’s it in a nutshell...
Personally I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole next year-I’d rather give one of our young lads a run and if Christie I’d the best we can do I’d think we have a bit of a problem...

Don't get me wrong, there's a good player in there somewhere and you could get promoted with him at right back. I just wouldn't pay a premium on the full back position when centre forward is a much bigger problem and Christie appears to need managing over 46 games. We don't have the budget to take the risk in my opinion.

He will be a free transfer.

Well worth signing, as long as he doesn't take the piss when it comes to wages.

He is the most improved player individually under CH.

He is beginning to realise it's a team game and that if he follows instructions as opposed to trying to do his own thing, his individual game gets better and his contribution as part of a team unit. That also improves as a result

This is my worry that once he gets a new contract he'll coast. Playing better recently and certainly did today. It will be interesting to see what Forest do on this one considering Gabriel is by all accounts playing well at Blackpool and assisted on their first goal today.

Christie and Lawrence-Gabriel competing for the right-back role next season would be more-than-acceptable in my opinion.

Despite having another year, I'd be very surprised if Jenkinson won't be looking to move-on, even on loan.

I'd be fine with this also. Gabriel has been doing well at Blackpool, so a good young player like him and a steady senior player like Christie on a free would be adequate enough. I'd imagine Hughton will want to focus what budget he has on attacking players, so Christie and Gabriel would be decent low cost solutions to the right back slot.

Interesting you mention the team game.

Yesterday watching the Sky results afternoon programme, Alan MacNally was commenting on Cardiff v Forest and said how well Forest were playing as a team to counter the Cardiff threat.

Seems to be the major improvement since CH arrived.

This was Northern California, literally towards the end but we went to Ashland and Lithia park is beautiful.

Yeah thought so, I went to Medford on 'vacation' so went to Ashland too, think that was where we went to Growler Guys!
Only part of Northern Cali I saw was Crescent City.
Also Crater Lake is greatest place to visit if ever in Southern Oregon.

Firstly, knockers has only been here for a portion of the season and sone of Christie’s worst displays were when knockers wasn’t in the side.

Secondly what on Earth sort of tactical brief tells you to stand on the wrong shoulder of a player that’s quicker than you, just so you give the impression of marking when in reality any ball through gas you beaten?, or to mysteriously move into a bad position as if on a string creating a gap you could run an attacking coach and horses through?.

Maybe I’m old fashioned but this guy really irks me because he is so shit at defending. There’s Figs making blocks and tackles and at least being in the fight defensively yet we want to sieve the guy and this bloke looks like a drunk whose woken up on a football pitch when it comes to defending and we’re supposed to say it’s someone else’s fault?. Jesus.

This has aged like a fine Bordeaux
