My joy was 52nd Street to go to the last knockings of the jazz bars there. Jimmy Ryan's and Eddie Condon's were the only two left, but they were rocking (if you like New Orleans jazz, that is).
I've been since it moved to West 44th St. in the '90s Richard, but I'd love to have visited Birdland when it was on 52nd Street, when all of the Bebop greats played there.
