Good to see his appeal got rejected, rot in jail ****** twat!

From the info that has been released for public consumption... you can't honestly think he is a ******?

I emphasise the bit about the info that has been released for public consumption... for all I know there is some substantial information that was available to the jury that isn't available to us. But from what I have heard it has to be one of the biggest jokes of a guilty verdict I have heard.

He is guilty or they'd have listened to an appeal.

Yes I can, the girl totally out of her tree and unable to consent, just because she wasn't screaming and fighting him off doesn't mean she gave consent.

So if you stumbled across a semi concious girl on a friday/saturday night that didn't know what she was doing you'd quite happily tap her, and if she was so out of it that she didn't stop you you'd be satisfied you didn't rape her?

I just hope you never have to see the fall out for a crime like this, as it isn't pretty.

The anonomity and experience width of the forum members, gives some more experience than they ever wish in life........I do not think the Police and CPS are staffed fully by hard working honest individuals devoted to the truth, for some individuals employed by these agencies a conviction.......any conviction as long as they get one will suffice........I know very little about this case, but do know there are and continue to be some disturbing miscarriages of justice.

The words sheltered and life come into play here! Just bring back hanging and fook the true miscarriages of justice.

Sheffield United are apparently welcoming this bloke back with open arms after serving less than half of his 5 year term for Rape. I understand he is appealing his sentence and has always claimed that he didn't rape the 19 year old women, it was according to him consensual sex and not rape.

From news reports the PFA have also approved their player to go back to playing football with Sheffield United.

If you ask me I think anyone who is convicted of rape should be banned from being a pro footballer for life unless of course they are later proved innocent.

Which football team mate is going to be happy playing alongside a convicted ******? What sort of supporter is happy to have a convicted ****** playing for their team? Shouts from opposition fans of ******, ******, ****** is not going to be ideal for anyone, least of all the player himself!

Sorry but I don't agree.

If you're a criminal, but then are released from prison, you should be entitled to be able to try and work, so long as your job doesn't put people at risk. (i.e a ********** working in/near a school...)

He is clearly a scumbag, and I imagine he thought he was untouchable. But when he's out, he's been punished for his crime. If he is then able to play football and get paid for it, then he should be allowed to. I don't think you can say, 'you can only do crap jobs from now on'.

If you believe in rehabilitation then you must give people second chances, its stinks he is going to make good money again but if we want criminals to come out and be good in society than we must give them an opportunity. If you condemn a person to always not be in society than what does he have left.

You do have a point, "paid in time for your crime" etc. etc. And in some cases I think this is only fair for cases like fraud, burglary, TV license evasion, drugs even, rehabilitation shouldn't mean you cannot get on in life. But a rape conviction is different in my opinion, the message that you send out to those around you, other players, young supporters, women supporters etc. that you can do a horrible vile crime against someone else then go back and do a very well respected and in some cases adored job is just plain wrong in my opinion. The FA (in my opinion) should really blanket ban any player who is accused and convicted of such a vile crime, its not fair on anyone in the game.

Being a professional footballer is a privilege and these people should be role models in a positive way.

I agree that footballers are role models, but they don't necessarily choose to be.

I don't know, I do see where you're coming from, and I imagine it's a point which many would agree with in a sense. I just think it kind of goes against the function of society.

In an ideal world convicted rapists would be castrated, but obviously it's just not a realistic prospect. I think part of me also thinks that sometimes a person can do something wrong, even incredibly wrong in some cases, and once they've been punished, genuinely realise their mistake and feel awful for it. It doesn't make what they did okay, but then I think that person deserves the chance to be a successful part of society again, and if that means earning lots of money playing sports, then so be it...

Ok fair enough and your idealism is certainly valid, everyone should deserve a second chance I agree, in an ideal world.

I do think the message that this case will actually send out will have nothing to do with idealism at all in the end but will have everything to do with what men can or could 'get away with' doing to women. What message does that send out to young lads? This point alone is a far more worrying point than idealism, if young boys saw the actual consequences of violent crime against women then it might help prevent them from being vile themselves in future?

I'll be honest, it's a scary world where a woman can have sex with a man and later say, 'I was too drunk to consent' and the bloke ending up in Prison for 5-years.

She even admitted to going back to the hotel consensually - It's a crock of shit if you ask me.

I do agree that this is worrying, claiming rape because 'I was too blind drunk to remember what happened or what I had said (consent given or not)' is shaky ground for a conviction. But the fact that Ched Evens made the journey to a hotel specifically to go and have sex with a very drunk girl his mate 'picked up' for them is also shaky ground for claiming his innocence really. Until this case is cleared after any further appeal then he still remains a convicted ****** and shouldn't be playing for a pro football club.
