That's where you need the left footed left back bombing down the outside. If the defenders over commit to CHO coming inside it is an easy layoff to overlapping left back to whip in a cross. If the defender doesn't over commit to CHO cutting inside then that in itself gives CHO more room to play in. Unfortunately because Aina is predominantly right footed his natural instinct is not to go down the outside but to hang back himself, pretty uch leacving CHO no where to go or we just end up passing the ball back out from a dangerous position.
Aina got to the by-line in the first minute and stood up a lovely ball to the back post for Neco, with his left foot.

Yes he did, but one instance out of however many games he has played for us at left back does not make him left footed or that to be his natural instinct.

This is where Tavares was great and formed a good partnership with CHO, shame he's a liability defensively. We might get there with Aina and CHO with Aina's more advanced role with the 3 at the back. It looked promising at times on Sunday although still a work in progress.

Agree, Tavares created space for CHO simply by being a natural left-sided player that would bomb past CHO. Personally for next season I would be happy for Williams and Aina battle it out on the right and then bring in a natural left back.

I thought the CHO/Tavares combination was looking good before his injury - certainly more balanced with the Left footed full back.
I think Tavares struggles in a back 4 - but would certainly be OK in a back 5

I for one am missing Taveres blasting it over the bar from outside the box on his weaker foot.

Might get to see Tavares and Aina soon...

Yeah I think we'll see Aina at RWB with Tavares brought in on the left for Saturday

I hope they dunk on Jack Robinson, he will not be able to handle the sheer pace from those two.

I might stick a tenner on Robinson to concede a penalty against us. If we don't get a penalty against Rash Robinson up against those 2 then we're never going to get one.

Which side does he play on anyway, either way Elanga/Aina will burn pass him or CHO/Tavares will cut in and get tripped by the fool.

Robinson is a left back so up against Aina and Elanga.

A rusty Tavares starting a must win is a recipe for disaster.....
Yes, but we actually need to score goals on Saturday, and Tavares does have penetration. The clean sheet malarkey goes out of the window here - my razor sharp brain tells me we need to score more goals than Utd, and we'll be alright.
No good being more adventurous after the event, as per on 80 minutes; quick! Get Tavares on to push up the left!
That would be typical Nuno, from what I've seen so far (team selection up with which I will not put).

If you don't want Montiel I would definitely go with Toffolo as the only player who seems to be able to put the ball in early with quality in our squad.
It's not without it's merits and Toffs is arguably the best crosser of the ball at the club. I just feel that Tavares gives us far more penetration
