I thought he did well today, especially in the second half, moreso when Tavares came on.

I think he’s slowly getting back to his best, we will probably see him contributing more next season once he’s more settled and trusts his body not to break down.
It's very much like Elanga earlier in the season - gets into good positions but then doesn't know what to do.Reminds be a bit of the way Grealish plays for City - takes the ball, dribbles to the defender, turns back and recycles possession. (Or spontaneously falls over in Grealish’s case). Pretty much every time.
Which works for them but we need him to take a few more risks and try and beat the man, or have a shot, rather than just keep possession all the time. Probably confidence and something that can be improved by coaching.
Just re-watched it. That looks so unnatural.Having watched match of the day again I saw something very dodgy - at least to a suspicious mind like mine. Firstly I noted the bromance between Toney and CHO when they exchanged big hugs in the line up. Secondly watching Toney’s goal again, CHO standing away from the wall puts his leg out to block the free kick, but then clearly pulls it back to allow the ball to go around the wall. All the focus was on moving the ball and foam and the position of the wall, but this looks as dodgy as hell.
Are you suggesting CHO had money on Toney scoring or something?Having watched match of the day again I saw something very dodgy - at least to a suspicious mind like mine. Disagree, this is where he's entirely different from Elanga imo. Elanga always tries something positive, and yes early in the season more often than not it failed, hence our frustration, but at least he tried something. CHO doesn't dare, presumably because he's scared of failing. Purely a confidence thing so hopefully he gets past it.It's very much like Elanga earlier in the season - gets into good positions but then doesn't know what to do.
Probably realised last minute that putting an umbrella up 3 times would look dodgy. When you see it, you can only conclude he was the second shooter.
I agree with you and Elanga now looks a different player now he has built some confidence and that's what Cho needs.Disagree, this is where he's entirely different from Elanga imo. I don’t know what to think. It just seems so unnatural to withdraw your leg when it would have blocked the ball. Are you suggesting CHO had money on Toney scoring or something?
If he 100% thought that he wouldn't be able to block the ball, then getting a big deflection on the shot probably wouldn't have helped either. It was just a small part of what was an absolute shambles. I know he has only been at the club a short time, but I'd be getting that set piece coach in to the manager's office Monday morning and find out WTF he is doing with them because whatever it is, it isn't working.I don’t know what to think.
