GAFF LAD. "Open your knees and feel the breeze"

This lad has talent. But his confidence is severley lacking. He needs to get on the ball and run at defenders. He had the tricks to twist them inside and out.
But he seems to be afraid at present. About 1 in every 5 times he has the ball will he genuinely run at the defenders. Needs to be doing it a lot more.

A good goal early on for Forest got me excited. That flame is totally doused and washed away. 1 good goal and a slack handful of decent crosses. Not good enough. I'd let him leave and find his mojo elsewhere.

I think he lacks confidence, but I think it's more the confidence in his body. Every time he gets tackled you can see him freeze and check he is ok.
Yes. He looks very concerned about getting tackled and injured. With that comes a lack of conviction in his dribbling.

When I watched him for Chelsea, his acceleration, tricks and ability to take a man on were lethal from a standing position. I really hope he can get his mojo back because he's clearly still got fantastic talent.

That would be my take too. That'll improve as long as he remains fit.

I thought he grew into the game pretty well v Brentford but looked to link rather than go one v one. We fashioned chances that way and he got an assist so, disappointment that he isn't Elanga/having the same impact aside, I'm not sure why he needs digging out after Brentford? Especially when he's the only real creative type we had out there.

Perhaps his body just needs to get used to playing regularly again? It's been a few years since he played significant minutes every week.

I think his talent is pretty evident, ideally we'd have a few more options so we weren't so reliant on him. I also think he'd benefit from a good, overlapping full back playing behind him.

Maybe building a partnership/understanding with just one might help - he's had three in the last six games (understandably given Nuno assessing the squad).

Probably still feeling the pinch from older injuries...

“I still feel to myself that I’m still improving, obviously still trying to get more strength in the calf, which I lost a lot of muscle from, but I feel like I’m getting back to my best. Hopefully, sooner or later, I’ll be back to normal as I was before, but I just want to keep improving, keep working hard daily and keep getting better day-by-day.”

Time to crack on tho now son.

I'd like us to get in another winger who, for me, would start ahead of him currently (once Elanga is fit). He's already had quite a decent run of games, and if that isn't enough to rediscover his mojo I'm not sure how much more we can afford to give him in our current situation. But I wouldn't get rid of him.

I actually thought he had a decent game for us yesterday, perhaps his best yet. Was on the ball a lot and I can see improvement. Worth persevering with.

Just wondering why he was in the position he was when free kick was taken-really strange. Was it to cover in case a ball was played down channel-but there seem no danger of this. Just get in the wall?

I don’t understand the wall and his role in its collapse.

I think attacking wise though there’s more to come and it’s gonna be worth it. his best work this season seems to be when he has but a smudge of time to act and just lets instinct take over, his goal against Burnley is the greatest long range shot all season and his cross yesterday was slick.

These might be flashes that never turn into a hot streak, he’s still far too young to write off the potential so I think we should ride it out.

This season has to be about him getting playing more minutes and contributing as much as he can. The way he’s going he could break his record for PL appearances and goals and assists in one season.

I’d get another winger only to aid his rest and recovery process, so he doesn’t risk further injury.

Don't get his lack of confidence.

Callum's not daft, but something's clearly playing with his mind... When he does take a defender on he usually beats them, and when he tries a cross or a shot in a dangerous place, it normally ends up with an assist to a chance or a goal attempt...

So why doesn't he? So many times he gets himself and the team in a good position where the final ball would be a killer, like the cross into Wood for the equaliser. But, so often he then annuls that position by then passing it back which takes the advantage away.

I get he's had injuries and they were not good but that was a while back now, if he doesn't trust his body then the club need to be helping him with it.

Because he doesn't trust his body. Doesn't want to invite the tackle in case of recurrent injury.
