Is he though? Most stat sites have him with pretty much identical strengths/weaknesses to MGW. Apparently most of his minutes in the 19/20 season came from a CAM/SS role, admittedly slightly wider than MGW but not by much.

You’ll no doubt have seen more of him than most, do you think he could play the MGW role?

Yes he is. Much more effective from a wider role, either cutting in as an inverse winger or stretching play on his stronger foot. He can play inside as a #10, sure, but that is not the best use of his strengths.

That is just mainly going on how I saw him play - many times - for Borussia Dortmund.

A few short years ago we couldn’t convince the likes of Neil Danns, Darren Pratley & other lower league cloggers, for who the closest they’d been to the word “quality” was when they were tucking into a tin of Quality Street on Christmas Day, to join us - and now we are being linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho.

What a bloody turnaround. The transformation in this clubs reputation and attractiveness is absurd. To think I once thought Simon Cox was the high bar for us.

I still don't think he is worth a roll of the dice. The public rebuttal of Ten Hag was pathetic and decidedly self serving. Mr Sancho has some big, big issues to address on his own and I think leaving England for a period of time would be his best move. We've built a good side over the past two years and I don't think risking that on a wild card, at this point, would be a wise decision. We rolled the dice on Jesse and it didn't work out, but Jesse didn't have the same baggage Mr Sancho has, nor were we near as solid a side at that point. And, who do we move to make room for him in the 25? Toffolo in January would be teh logical choice, if we were to go down that route. But if we add a body in January (and with AFCON that is probably going to occur) I'd rather it would be someone who doesn't have a defective character.

Sorry but you are mad if you would turn your nose up at somebody like Sancho in our position.

If Jadon has similar qualities to Morgan, then perhaps it's possible to envisage a succession, albeit one where MGW goes from Wolves reserves to Arsenal star and Jadon goes from MU outcast to Forest squad member to leading Forest back to Europe.

Obvs, I'd love for our current squad (plus Jadon, if required for the vibes) to achieve that, but ...

Clubs love to put out that a player has a bad character, Uniteds mouthpieces said the same about Lingard and Henderson, yet Lingard, despite not playing much, was a vocal supporter of the team from the bench and Hendo still came to our matches even after he was injured for the season.

I think it goes to show that United have a bad support system for players that don't 100% tow the line and arent automatic starters, from what ive read, Sanchos main issue is bad timekeeping, hardly the worst thing in the world. Ultimately, it should be up to Coops, who has worked with him before and knows him, if he thinks Sancho is a good lad, then we should go for it with all guns blazing, if he thinks/knows that maybe he is a bad apple, then sure, maybe give it a swerve.

I know it’s tongue in cheek but if you listen to commons interview about it I think the club fecked him over royaly. Than instead of clarifying anything the club stayed silent cause they didn’t want the bad publicity. I think commons deserves less stick for that. He wanted to stay but the club never offered him anything

However I really dislike how sancho has reacted. I think it’s a very weak mentaility. It comes across as entitled. Even if he feels like he hasn’t been supported you don’t go about it like that. Sancho has been very immature. I still think there is a world class player there and I know cooper would get more from him than ten Haag. However the attitude is stinky and is and I hate to say it a stereotypical Gen Z one. I hate to say that but that is how it comes across.

Also, Coops wouldn’t hang someone out to dry even if they’re struggling or just suck. With the amount of United followers there are on the internet, you’re essentially putting a target on the kids back. I’ll never agree to what Ten Haag did even if our own manager done it, like Dougal and the keeper he blamed. Evtimov I think? Disgusting stuff.

While Sancho’s response was probably not the right thing to do, you can’t blame the kid for reacting this way.

That said, to bring him here we'd have to send either Tavares or Santos back. We'd probably have to pay most, if not all his wages which amounts to about the same amount we spent on Lingard last season. Not to mention that, despite him falling out with ETH, a lot of times in Europe would ask about him. We'd probably have to be in the top half to attract him, despite Cooper being here.

So there would be a hell of a lot to do there, not to mention how United like to fanny about with us.

sancho is apparently on £350,000 p/w , definitely not the same amount as what we spent on lingard.

He wouldn't necessarily be taking a pay cut as we'd just cover a percentage of his wage, probably about 30% if he's on 350k a week.

I agree though, total pie in the sky and Steve Cooper might have powers of persuasion but I doubt he can convince a player to drop towards the bottom of the table when top 6 teams and most likely the cream of Europe would be after him.

That's the only way I can see him coming. If we get him on a cheap loan to put him in the shop window.
