People laughed at me when I mentioned this 😅😅😅 Its only because of Super Cooper that wed have a chance here. Although if Dortmund are interested hell go there.

Can see the logic, just have a feeling he’d view that as a backward step. He’s proved himself in Germany with Dortmund, is there much to gain from doing it again?

Hopefully he’ll want to prove ten Hag wrong and also be keen to show he can do it in the the biggest league in the world. That combined with the Cooper factor makes me think seeing Jadon in the Garibaldi is not as crazy as most think!

Yeah I put his name out in the transfer thread too. It was pointed out that he is as slow as f***. Technically gifted, but not particularly athletic, quick etc. Not the end of the world, but based on what Coopers is after right now, that’s probably a fair consideration.

He's nothing like MGW and they play a different role entirely, with Sancho being a winger.
^^^ That.

Sancho is a completely different player.

But as posted before, a trio of Sancho, MGW and CHO floating around behind Taiwo might be rather tasty? And you’ve got Elanga and Danilo to add to that mix.

I don't think Sancho really fits a counter attacking style.

It's part of his problem at Man Utd, in that they don't really play to his strengths, where he can make incisive passes from the flanks. When they get the ball out on the flanks, to Rashford or Antony, they like to drive forward ready for the cut in-field into a shooting position.

What's weird with Sancho is he has a better shot that Rashford from the left channel edge of the box position, but he needs a wingback behind or a deft midfielder inside him - like Bellingham- to get up the pitch and into that position through neat interchanges and fast dribbles.

The combined problem for him is those players-positions don't exists at Man Utd and it slows the attack down.

At Forest we're much more dependent on the pace of ball carriers like Elanga or Jonno before him.

I'd be surprised to see us go in for him, tbh. But not disappointed.

To be fair, I saw him play at Dortmund and he was pretty good on the counter.

Like most German sides, they went with a press and wanted to win the ball and break quickly, and he can do that.

But you’re absolutely right about Man U, they just don’t have the players to take advantage of what he can bring. And ten Hag wants to play a different way, a more possession-based game, as he did at Ajax Amsterdam.

Sounds a bit like our number 10

Isn't he on something like 350k a week at Manure, coupled with 70m+ they paid for him, only way he comes here is by taking a huge pay cut and on a loan. Pie in the sky IMO.
He wouldn't necessarily be taking a pay cut as we'd just cover a percentage of his wage, probably about 30% if he's on 350k a week.

I agree though, total pie in the sky and Steve Cooper might have powers of persuasion but I doubt he can convince a player to drop towards the bottom of the table when top 6 teams and most likely the cream of Europe would be after him.

Sauce salad?
I very much doubt a top PL side would go in for him after his United spell - football moves these days and they'd look at his wages/recent record and pass. Top German side maybe...

Could we land him? I've mentioned before that I think his relationship with Cooper could put us in good stead, though United are terrible to deal with and I suspect they'd be keener to see him go abroad.

Doubtful.

Would Man Utd want to loan/sell him to EPL/UCL competitors?
Might depend on how the season is going at that point but I doubt they'd want him hanging around on that much money if someone is willing to take him on.

Then there's the West Hams, Newcastle and Villas of this world who would no doubt have him too.

Not every decision is black and white. I know, i'll join the team that's highest in the table.

There could be multiple reasons a player would chose one club over another. Sometimes the enviroment is the most important thing in a players eyes.

Is he though? Most stat sites have him with pretty much identical strengths/weaknesses to MGW. Apparently most of his minutes in the 19/20 season came from a CAM/SS role, admittedly slightly wider than MGW but not by much.

You’ll no doubt have seen more of him than most, do you think he could play the MGW role?

Would we want him to, would be my argument. I like MGW playing the MGW role, and fingers crossed he seems ok on the injury front. If we got someone as expensive and high profile as Sancho in I wouldn't want him to be backup to one of the first names on our team sheet.

I don't think he's much different at all to MGW, just has a different position as his strength.

That’s the worry tho. Who is the deputy, CHO?

I still don't think he is worth a roll of the dice. The public rebuttal of Ten Hag was pathetic and decidedly self serving. Mr Sancho has some big, big issues to address on his own and I think leaving England for a period of time would be his best move. We've built a good side over the past two years and I don't think risking that on a wild card, at this point, would be a wise decision. We rolled the dice on Jesse and it didn't work out, but Jesse didn't have the same baggage Mr Sancho has, nor were we near as solid a side at that point. And, who do we move to make room for him in the 25? Toffolo in January would be teh logical choice, if we were to go down that route. But if we add a body in January (and with AFCON that is probably going to occur) I'd rather it would be someone who doesn't have a defective character.
