Out of interest, does anyone know where Forest (or any other team) get the info from on where players are likely to put their penalties? Most of those players last night for Sheff U can’t have taken many penalties in professional games. So how did we find out?

Ex players, training with said players, Agents?

Loads of people have contacts in football to find this out.

I understand the whole thing of data in football. But that only works if you have data to work from. Are you suggesting it’s back of the pub conversations, or are teams getting the info from some formal data source?

I'm suggesting that former players may give clues, like Osborn he played with Worral, Worral will have seen him take penalties etc.

I firmly believe in the "6 degrees of separation" theory so it would take long for you to get a list of penalty takers and how they take them. Especially when clubs like United have a high % of British based talent.

I could be wrong, but that's my guess as well as actually watching previous kicks.

I'll be listening with interest to Charlie McParland's take on last night's events on the Teamtalk show later.

Particularly in view of some of his recent comments about Samba - "the team's weak link"....."throws more in than he saves", and his brutal coup de grâce from a fortnight-or-so ago....."I wouldn't give two-bob for him".

Comments like that show why he is grifting on Teamtalk rather than in management or coaching.

I've just watched some hourihane penalties on YouTube and not once did he go down the middle. So maybe the logic is go the way that they haven't before ???

With all due respect, do you understand how football works?

You say his mistake meant we would have gone through, but how much of his style of play helped make it 2-0 to start with? Not only his distribution but his willingness to be given the ball, how much does that help settle us down and let us control games? How many crosses did he come for and collect? How many clean catches? Do you not see that so many of our attacks actually start from the back, which Samba is a huge part of? How many of those counter attacks against Sheff Utd that were so dangerous started from his quick thinking or accurate throws?

I don't mean this to sound harsh, it's coming from a genuine place I 100% promise you, BUT there is more to life than being right. You gave an opinion on the forum about Samba needing dropped, you've managed to throw in casually multiple times how being dropped helped him (no proof of that), and even now after yesterday both his performance and how much this means as a club you feel the need to post that, when any one who follows football knows what you're saying is beyond harsh, and is once against trying to justify an opinion you wrote to I'm guessing mainly people you haven't even met months ago. If you are getting your self esteem from being correct on a forum, or if it is really meaning that much to you then maybe you should take a break as that's honestly not healthy dude.

Social Media can take people to bad places, today all Forest fans should be insanely happy, and lets be honest we should being love with this guy, if you're letting an opinion you write that long ago, that most people would have forgot if you didn't keep reminding them with little comment, affect you then honestly maybe have a think

(Again, I say out of concern as I have seen this sort of thing before!)

Edit - take note from Mase, sometimes it's ok to be wrong haha!

You’ll learn to ignore Alf (there is a function for that). I think he’s somewhere on the ASD spectrum . Think of him as a more eloquent Hannah Dexter, but probably with a better porn collection
