Brice Lauriche Samba - „Magic Hands“

Steve Cooper said in his interview that Samba was waiting for him after the game finished last night.

He looked at Cooper and said 'I told you'.

Cooper said that's Brice in a nutshell. What a man

He's f***ing brilliant. A goalkeeper with the confidence and swagger of a top striker. I absolutely love the bloke.

I'll be listening with interest to Charlie McParland's take on last night's events on the Teamtalk show later.

Particularly in view of some of his recent comments about Samba - "the team's weak link"....."throws more in than he saves", and his brutal coup de grâce from a fortnight-or-so ago....."I wouldn't give two-bob for him".

Charlie's response......"I'm still not having him as a 'keeper; three very weak penalty kicks; I could have saved them".

The amount of clubs who would love to have Samba in their team.

They criticise him for his antics and performance but you know that's because they envy.

He's a special character. So glad to have him.

It's not envy, Samba has a way of being hated because he's a shithouse and a damn good one, he's a player you hate against you but love for you.

Like many players and managers.

I make his 2nd pen save the best of the 3. Not many keepers have the balls to just stand there and possibly look a bit of a plum for not diving. Most always choose one side or the other. It's also why a lot of players boot it down the middle.

His reflexes to get his arm out to deflect the ball onto the bar shouldn't be underestimated.

Great reflexes, also great strength to hold that arm firm enough to keep the ball out the net.

Penalty had some serious pace on it.

Most people can't name most Championship keepers. Brice is known by every fanbase.

But I think you have to agree it was at a perfect height for him to save it.

That was said as a joke comment by me, but something you often hear, in all seriousness by co-commentators at games, who must have been absolute football geniuses in their time when playing.

Andy Hinchcliffe is the worst offender for this, he's an absolute expert on every position. I can't stand him. He would have been a mix between Fabio Cannavaro and Leo Messi when he was playing judging by his standards.

Glad to be one of the few who never waivered their support of Brice. The two saves he made were as good as scoring a goal and the three penalty saves were outstanding. Brice took over that penalty shootout, he completely took the control away from their players and the ref. Never seen anything quite like it.

He is mentally ill that bloke, he really is.

I think it's more a case of Charlie being borderline-xenophobic and embittered Razar.

To further compound his ludicrous opinions, he also claimed Brice "got lucky" because the vital saves he made early-on and in extra time weren't from "recognised strikers". If I didn't know better I'd have assumed he was on some massive f***ing wind-up.

It's all about mid-table...

“Borderline” is being generous Otis. I’d say it’s pretty clear that McParland has a problem with foreigners.

Random question but has he spoken in the media at all? I'm intrigued to know what he sounds like and how he comes across.
Yeah it's probably just me!
