I don’t know the extent of grief his parents received or condone it but no doubt DJ tarnished his reputation towards the end.
I stand by what I said there, he needed to improve his game and he did. If you can’t call out players for not playing well, but also still support them, then whats the point

It was always a bit of a strange choice for them given the way they like to play, can only assume they expected to turn him into a more rounded player. Sadly I think he's a bit of a 'what you see is what you get' player

Absolutely. He's a very decent player.
But outside of his pace he just does nothing particularly special.
He’s got 4 assists and a goal this season, not great, but by no means terrible.

1 goal in 15 starts in a front 3 pushing for the CL and cost 50mil? I get that there should be a period of adjustment for him but Spurs fans won't settle for that.

From what I've seen and heard from them since his move, the perception seems to be that he has potential but is some way off the standard they require currently. His decision making being the main thing which comes in for criticism.
I think it's just typical short-sighted fans expecting a 22 year old to be the finished product, probably partly because of the price tag.

It's not quite clicking for him but he's only ever really played the one role and style so he was always going to have to learn a few things and different ways.
In reality, he didn't do too much different to any of the other attacking players on the pitch but didn't quite get an assist or decent chance. Fernandes and Hojlund (after he scored) were pretty anonymous.

He is used predominantly as a wide player by Spurs, most of the time used as a pacy player to use his speed to get crosses in the Richarlison etc, yes hes in a front 3, but it doesn’t look like Ange sees him as the goalscorer.
