Brennan Price Johnson

Eddie Yates

Watched him today and he stunk the place out to be fair - popped on to Spurs forum and they are not happy!

I think we’ve extracted maximum value for him.

I also think when they have all their players back fit he won’t be starting - within 2-3yrs he might be back with us!
I wonder if his Dad will rock up at the CG wearing his Spurs bobble hat

And I haven't ever claimed he's terrible.

But playing game in, game out in that side, it's hardly a startlingly good return anyway.
No, I agree. But you could say that about countless players the first season that they join any team, Rodri, Joelinton, most the Chelsea team.

I don't consider him a bad player, he's just one dimensional and it's a dimension that Spurs don't really utilize. We know what he's capable of if you set up to his strengths but Spurs are never going to shape their side around Johnson, that's just the way it is

The reality is he's not a £50m player and the price tag will be held over his head by the Spurs fans, just look at Kulusevski he's a better player on either wing and is equally effective through the middle, Spurs paid about £20m for him. You can see why they would be expecting something similar for double the price

BJ is an excellent example and creation of Forest’s academy. What tends to happen is that the game is focused on his strengths, his attributes pace and passing is outstanding. Forest got value from him

Spurs fans are typically f***ing idiots and also expect goals for that price tag, no excuses. He’ll move on a few times, hopefully not the way Burke turned out, BJ has a brain of course.

Go get him now then Brentford lol

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know

PFP does not interest me one iota mate, notta fukin jot.
I get what you're saying tho pal, but I'm only interested iin fukin FOOTBALL.
Mate I can't stand the way the game has gone either take me back to the days of standing in the old trent end middle pen anyday but it's a fact due to him being total profit its now obvious he was always getting sold as would yates and Worrall have been if anyone offered that sort of money as we paid nothing for them

I do think he'll come good for them (although i hope he doesn't because i don't like those "big club" pricks), he hasnt yet built up an understanding with Richarlison or Son in terms of when to play it on the ground (his specialty cut backs) or when to loft it. Today he was lofting them to the back post when Richarlison was making runs towards the near post for the cut backs, last time it was the complete opposite.

I'll never forget Dan Burn handling him like a child when he went one on one with him in our first game back away to Newcastle last season and thinking that not only were we in for a long bloody season but Brennan isn't going to cut it at this level. By January he was literally injuring players with his pace (Bella Kotchup).

But his key attribute, his main instinct is space. He thrives on it and there might not be too many others in the PL ahead of him in terms of exploiting it. Its why he looked a 50mil player here and a 15mil flop at Spurs so far, big clubs don't get that space in behind to exploit on the counter as much as we did very often. But it'll be very interesting to see how he develops with Big Ange, i still think he will adapt and thrive.

Sums it up for me.

Needs to be playing on the shoulder, preferably as the most advanced forward. Trying to shoehorn him into a team which has neat build up play which he's expected to be part of just removes his two main things he's really good at: His speed and his finishing.

Happy to have him back here in a year or so. Postecoglu will be at Spurs for the forseeable and at some point Johnson and Spurs will realise they don't suit each other. No prizes for guessing which one they'll depart with.

It was always going to be a tough step-up, especially going to Spurs who basically play the complete opposite to the way we did.

Even in the Champ he had a limited role in our attack. Much more responsibility on him now in a team that like to dominate the ball in the oppo's half. I hope they give him time but he would probably be better off with a few of Spurs' injuries coming back so he can have a breather.

BBC Sport reporting that Tottenham's number one priority this summer will be a wide attacking player. Pedro Neto and Eberechi Eze named as possible targets. That doesn't bode well for Brennan.

Or Bryan Gil. Yes please on that one!

Both goals against Luton all made by him. Forever a Red!

4 goals and 11 assists, pretty sure in our team he would have had a stand out season. Stats are still very good and the tottenham fan base are changing their minds about him

He's apparently doing very well off the bench for them but has been indifferent as a starter. Decent returns for the lad - nothing I wouldn't have expected from him... and he'll only get better.

If we are getting punished through points for selling him too late then maybe we should have just kept him. I'm sure those 15 goal contributions would have come in handy and probably made up the points knocked off anyway.

If only it were that simple as keeping him.
