Gary Neville was another; sometimes listed at 5‘11“ but I’ve stood next to him, and he’s nowhere near that.
Not sure Des Walker is as tall as he was listed as either... I've stood next to him. And Craig Armstrong was surprisingly short too.

Sauce salad?
Bloke I know was telling me he was 5'10" the other day, while clearly being at least three inches shorter than me... Either I've grown (I have, but outwards!) or he's shrunk.

He was a pro keeper back in the day, so I suspect while he may well have stopped a couple of inches in older age, he's probably had a lifetime of pretending to be taller than he is.

Never seen this kind of finish before - hits it into the turf to lift it over the keeper 👏

Nice to see Tavares, Danilo and Taiwo heavily involved. Didn't see Felipe much other than the start - anyone spot him?

To be fair Uncle Des is probably in his 70s now so has probably shrunk a bit.
I'm not sure Des will appreciate you adding over ten years to his actual age, but your overall point has some merit about most of us losing a small amount of height as we reach old age.

How did Santos do when he came on against the Scousers?
I was watching a stream, and I didn't realise he had been deployed as a sub.
The stream was terrible though.

Ozil was doing it when the boy was still at the tit

Huh. Much maligned, but I loved watching Ozil in his pomp. Probably helped that he never played for a team I supported though.

Would appear that talks are ongoing to terminate his loan early in January. And we’re paying a financial penalty every time he doesn’t play.

Victim of circumstances. I'm sure he could have been useful, but he's not getting game time ahead of the current midfield 3 or Danilo now or Yates.

Yeah I guess we brought him in before Sangare and Dominguez were confirmed. Perhaps we weren't entirely convinced we were going to land either so moved quickly to get him.

Makes sense to cut short the loan. Unlikely to be a situation where we need him to play.

Financial penalty when he doesn't play?
That is a poor contractual term to agree to.
The lad hasn't played ever for his "home" club, and never outside of Brazilian leagues.
Send the bugger back

What's the source for this?

I think we’ll try and broker a deal with Chelsea that also includes a substantial bid for Chalobah. Not that he necessarily want to join.
