Andrey Nascimento dos Santos

Did he really go down the tunnel in a strop? Did any of the unused subs start going to the tunnel to get their training kits for a warm down before the end of the game? Sounds more like bull to me, why did Chelsea loan him to another mid table competitor in the first place.

Not sure what the fuss is.

Santos was signed on 25/8 before we played Man Utd on 26/8. To make the squad for this he would have had to be signed before noon.

The next game was Chelsea, whom he is on loan from, and can't play against.

So in reality the only games he could have been involved in were Man City, Burnley and Brentford.

2 of those he was on the bench.

“He’s been good,” Cooper said. “He’s obviously a really good young player. I had a really good chat with Chelsea (about him) this week. I didn’t realise some stuff had been written about him.

There’s a lot of new players here and we’re really trying to get the balance right in integrating all the players at the right time, while trying to perform as best we can in every single game to get the results we want. That’s a real process.

“With young players, sometimes it can take longer than others to settle in. I’m not saying he’s not, it’s just circumstantial at the moment in some of the games.

For example, Brentford could have been a really good game for him to come off the bench. But we went down to 10 men and he wasn’t feeling too well on the sidelines. That went against him, because he was definitely in our thinking for a change. It didn’t work out that way, because of how he was feeling and the red card - so there’s been a little bit of bad luck as well.
“But we’re really enjoying working with him and seeing him in training. We will continue with that process.”

Should put to bed some of the rumours about him storming down the tunnel 'in a strop'

You could easily confuse "running down the tunnel in a strop" with "running down the tunnel to make the shithouse. because the first inch is already cold.".

Easy mistake to make.
I am reminded of an incident in a VfB Stuttgart home game last season, where defender Waldemar Anton, mid-way through the second half, made the familiar „rolling hands“ gesture towards the bench, and then turned and ran - at full pelt - towards the tunnel (which during the current building works, is in one corner of the stadium) without waiting for a response or anything else.

Post-match, coach Sebastian Höneß said Anton was suffering from an „abdominal flu“, and as Stuttgart were wearing their familiar white kit, with white shorts, the player‘s decision to self-sub himself was perhaps for the best, mitigating a potentially „explosive“ incident on the pitch!

So he had the bog trots then because he'd had 10 pints and a curry with Navas the night before.
Some people will make any old shit up to cause a stir.

One of the reasons why I was against the signing, because Chelsea would have been given some sort of guarantees over game time, which I am against. Should we be really be developing Chelsea's player for them when we have Danillo (who fits the same mould), Dominguez and Sangare (who are just better but need to get up to speed with the leagye) and Yatsey (who is the heart and soul of this team). Oh well it is a cheap loan as cover for 6 months, highly doubt he is still here after January with how things are currently going.

We didn't have Dominguez and Sangare when the deal was agreed though, which I think is the point.

As per the pre-match earlier;

Cooper said he'd spoken to Chelsea this week. Basically his way of saying to everyone shut up and stop stirring; he's in the mix and will be used as deemed appropriate by Steve.

Also wasn't feeling well v Brentford so that went against him.

Chelsea fans, and whoever it is in Fab's ear, need to pipe the f*** down. He chose to sign on loan for us, no one forced him to.

Saying that, I'm looking forward to seeing him if he gets on this week, because he does have the pedigree.

Is this fuss all created because it's a Chelsea player and the press are asking questions because it's important, involving a BIG 6 player?

Or is it because we're all really interested in a young loan player?

Answers on a postcard, but not to me because I'm not bothered.

I don't think we'd have given Chelsea any guarantee at all

Ive always been suprised that more players have not browned their shorts during a game in fairness. Especially at Forest, one smell of the pedigree chum pies from the Main Stand is enough to melt a mans insides within seconds.

Pointless update: Height wise this guy is definitely not 5 foot 11 - he was warming up in front of me the other day (Luton) in a row including Aguilera and Williams and looked smaller than both. I've got him 5'9" tops.

He's taller when he's got his high heels on though.

I think there is the tendency to over-state heights in some places.

It's been mentioned before that whilst the ATP site has Denis Shapovalov down as 1.85 m (6'1), he is actually a few inches shorter than that.

Gary Neville was another; sometimes listed at 5‘11“ but I’ve stood next to him, and he’s nowhere near that.
