The only vision Abdoun had was his own path to glory which usually resulted in dribbling straight into a defender. He was absolutely f***ing crap and a lightweight wimp to boot.

It's amazing isn't it how people can watch the same players and see the polar opposite regarding talent and ability.

I always thought exactly the same as you re Abdoun, a big headed show off who thought doing keepy uppies on the pitch in a game, or the silly penalty made him a world class player.

An interview from his time at Man City gave the game away about him really, when he said he likes to watch the great players and then copy their moves - to him that's all it was, trying to look good.

Those great players he copies do things extraordinary in a game and wow everyone because they have real world class talent, they do things like that and change games in an instant by doing the extraordinary.

That's not the same as some clown trying to copy them on the pitch (and achieving nothing) just so he can say he did the same move as Ronaldo or whoever - so therefore in his head he must be on the same level as them.

He isn't, he was utterly crap.

You always see loads of those types in Sunday league football these days.

Wearing fancy boots, sporting the latest trendy haircut, barely putting the effort in, just demanding the ball whilst trying to show off doing flicks and tricks.

They're not bad players, but they really think they're better than they are. The ego is huge, and if they happen to do something that none of the overweight men on the pitch could do, like score from outside the area, the overwhelming smugness can be felt 2 pitches away.

That made me chortle

Can't stand the abuse refs get at all levels of the game. So hard finding them at grass roots - don't scare them off!

Don't watch the twats but I can imagine. It's a mirror image of society nowadays.

He will most probably be here for the first gathering on Friday, but it is doubtful that he will stay.

He wasn't here for the first gathering, nor did he undergo the ergometric tests the other players did during the weekend, but he started training on Monday:

Still thought to have come here only in order to train until he goes elsewhere. It appears then that Karanka did not even want him to start training with Forest, which is a bit of an overreaction, but anyway.

It is a bit harsh on him but we've had a culture for years of carrying a lot of players who don't play, often through no fault of their own, through injury or just managment changes.

The result has been a bloated squad with lots of players just going through the motions with no sense of purpose or desire or any team spirit.

I think Karanka wants a smaller group which is closer and more focused on the task at hand without carrying 10 passengers every season.

Although Bouchalakis is still expected to leave on loan somewhere, he's supposed to sign a new two-year contract with us. Which means that we're returning the Kapino favour: we're taking an unwanted player off your hands, for the duration of his contract with you.

Bouchalakis is a much better player than Kapino in my view, but structurally the situation is identical.
