I’ve not seen this guy play but I get the impression he’s more of a MGW/Scarpa type than a destroyer/water carrier type?
Yes, but he gets stuck in as well, surprisingly much for a teen who wears babies shin pads and looks about 7 stone.

not even the same type of player to MGW, closer to Garner if anyone.

I know a lot of City fans, he is without doubt their biggest talent, they have made a habit to making huge profits on players in recent years.

They wouldn't sell for less than £20m-£25m IMO

I'd be happy if we signed him, has a huge ceiling and could be a future England regular.
I pretty much got the pricing spot on.

He could well be worth £40m+ in 12 months.

He could also be the next Connor Wickham, or that Powell United signed. They don't all work out but I have more faith it will given how stats driven Bournemouth are. Still, a bit of a risk.

They knew that when they signed him to be fair. Picked it up in his medical but still seen the value in buying him.

Told you lot he was a good lad - if he's not going to be a superstar, he will clearly have given it his best shot.

bournemouth spend more than 50m on 2 players that have yet to play a single minute for the club but in the here and now, bournemouth are struggling and by the time those 2 are fit, bournemouth might be in big trouble.

All I’m gonna say is Ross wasn’t gonna be fooled by either of them, nor was I.

Depends really doesn't it? Bournemouth spent a fair amount of money on a lad who is still very young (still just a teenager at the time) who was a standout player at his previous club despite not having really come through an academy system and the side he came from being mid table.

They were definitely buying potential but also at a price and an age where his resale value is likely to go up not down - with a few PL games under his belt he will fetch them even more money and if they do go down he will be back at a level where he has performed well or will earn another move to another PL club.

They will presumably have looked at Alex's knee issue over the summer and decided that it is nothing to worry about long term, and that he will be available when it's recovered (and that they would probably have to pay more if he moved in Jan). He also has no significant injury history previously.

You can see why we might not have taken the risk but I don't think the injury was the reason why. We're already stocked with AMs with Elanga, CHO, MGW and other CMs at the club like Yates, Sangare, Mangala, Dominguez, if the plan was to go for all of those at the time then you can see why we would have chosen not to pay (I think) 20m on a 19 year old boy who has only played 2 seasons in the division below, and is currently injured.

Saying that I think his ceiling is probably higher than Brennan's and he might even go for more next time they both move.
