Bristol City reject Bournemouth bid for Scott

Bournemouth have had a £15m offer plus add-ons rejected by Bristol City for midfielder Alex Scott.

Bournemouth have been monitoring the player for a number of windows and feel he could be an exciting addition to Andoni Iraola’s new-look team.
Bristol City value Scott at £25m.

A number of Premier League sides watched Scott last season but the Cherries look to be in the driving seat to land the 19-year-old.

Gone to Bournemouth for 25m

Bournemouth have made some very good signings and I expect them to be mid table this season, it’s going to be a long winter for us if we don’t get a move on

Has he ever played in the PL before?
No and he's still just a teen, 20 this month. A lot of money for a very promising but very inexperienced player.

Great signing for them. They are also after the young CB from Norwich.

They are doing what we should be. We’re currently getting schooled in the transfer market.

So the going rate for a top/full of potential Championship player is 25m?

Kind of puts into perspective Brentford’s alleged bid for Brennan somewhat.

Fair enough they have taken the gamble. Not sure if want Forest to take it to be honest. Haven’t they kept billing as well?

Considering that we'd want an early return on that fee (as would most clubs in the PL), where would you select this lad to play in our side?

My own take is that we have more pressing needs elsewhere rather than shelling-out £25m on untried, if promising, potential.

I would rather we spend 25m on someone that improves the team right now. He obviously has a lot of potential but I'm surprised someone in a similar position to us has used such a large portion of their budget on a 19yo Championship midfielder.

They’ve signed him and he’s out for a while injured. Perhaps it’s seen as an excellent investment.

Pressing needs you say? So where’s the money going to now in your opinion?

He’s got quite a bit of proven production behind him already. MGW anyone?

Agreed, unless of course Bournemouth's new American owner has adopted a casual attitude towards FFP-compliance. He won't be the first.

I’ve not seen this guy play but I get the impression he’s more of a MGW/Scarpa type than a destroyer/water carrier type?
