I wouldn't panic too much. I think this is more a case of Lamouchi trying to build his confidence so he can squeeze at least something out of him if needs be in the playoffs.

Although if there is any suggestion of him coming here permanently, hopefully his awful performances will have shaved a significant amount of the asking price.

I'm not sure why he keeps getting dug out on the matchday threads as I don't think he's doing a huge amount wrong...

He's struggling to shed the legacy of his first few performances, undeniably dire, he bearly looked capable of getting a football under control.

He's improving though, thought last night he showed his pace, got to 2/3 loose balls first, some decent lay offs.

If folk dont take to you instantly & say as much, its rare you can come back from it. Although I do concede he needs to make a tangible contribution.

Yup.

Alf is going to spaff in his pants when he does and we're not going to hear about anything else for the entire length of his 5 year contract :(
He keeps chucking him on is what worries me.

I'm not one to lose faith in a manager at the slightest thing but signing this fella, even on a free would test that resolve.

To me this guy, clearly devoid of confidence, is one of the worst players I have seen in a forest shirt ever.

It's like his feet are not connected to the rest of his body, if he were a boxer the corner should have thrown the towel in a long time ago.

It's an experiment that hasent worked, it's time to admit that and pick somebody else.

I often respect your opinion, but I just don't think you're right here. He's improving with every game, and has done nothing wrong over the last few appearances.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
I think the issue is that he hasn't won us any points when he has come on - but then again, of the fringe players - who has?

edit: Oh Shit! I've just opened it up for Alf to go on his 'recruitment' soap box again!

He hasn't done much wrong recently, but hasn't done anything particularly good either. Not good enough to start, and doesn't really make much of an impact when he comes off the bench. I've not seen anything that suggests that he is worth keeping at the club next season.

He hasn't had that much opportunity to be fair.
And his confidence looks to be shot away.
There must be something there that Sabri admires.
His time at Huddersfield has not done him an favours.

Agree with this.

His first few games were terrible, but a bit like Jenks he's looked a bit better the last few games. Not much, but there are signs there could be a player in there.

Over the season, 32 appearances, 1210min played (equivalent of over 13 full games).............0 goals scored, 2 assists at Udders (half as many as Worrall)

That's a poor record for an attacking player.

He may have something, Sab might turn him into a gem given time, but it's a myth he's not had the opportunity mate. He's almost had as much game time as Ryan Yates of the season, and Yates has bagged 3 from a more defensive role.

We'll see what occurs. I'll be very surprised if this is anything but Sab trying to lift the lads for the playoffs.

I remember thinking the same about Kevin Campbell in his first season with us.
In most games he was bang average but, every so often he showed something that made you think “ there’s a player in there “
The following season he was a revelation.
It turned that he was carrying a back injury for the greater part of his first year.
In Diakaby’s case it would appear to be a confidence issue. Let’s hope for a similar outcome.

I'm looking at the whole picture in the assessment, we arent at a stage to be trying things out or trying to improve confidence of a player that ultimately aint ours... hes taking the place of youngsters who are ours and would struggle to produce less of an output.... then theres Walker, where the bloody hell is he and why did we bring him back?

You know a player is bad, really bad, really really really bad when Barry is suggesting one of our academy players may be a better option to try.....

There's an argument to be had for persisting with Da Costa and Jenkinson (and arguably Bong) because they're our players. Diakhaby and Semedo are going back. Unless we're able to get them at next to nothing, in which case they need to show they can offer more than holding down a place on the bench. We need additions who will improve the first team next season, not just add to the squad.

I'm trying to think of under what circumstances I'd rather see Diredonkey coming on, rather than Alex Mighten.

Nope, as it stands my mind is drawing a complete blank.

As for signing the guy permanently; to me that'd indicate we're just looking to recruit more of the same rather than looking to improve the quality of the squad. Moreover, if his confidence is still shot despite featuring regularly for a side who are almost guaranteed a playoff spot, I wouldn't hold out much hope of him being much use should the going get a little tougher. We need players with a bit more backbone than that.

Thats probably a red herring, stakes are high at present, particularly given the 3 in 13 stat you highlighted on the Barnsley thread.

If play offs are secure, we may see both Saturday, both jhave serious wheels so have a legitimate claim to getting in behind their high press.

Nottingham's dirty secret
So he's managed to actually control a ball without shinning it. And even passed to another player once or twice. And not to forget he can run really fast.

I've honestly seen nothing to suggest 'he's got sonething' (if you discount doing the basics you'd expect from a bloke down the park) and loads to suggest he's got nothing at the moment other than pace.

January signings when immediate impact is needed during a promotion push don't get much shitter than this.
