So Nixon says this is the winger.

Formerly of Rennes. Still young at 23. Decent money move to the Prem from Monaco and it didn't work at Huddersfield.

Could be a smart move with Sabri on board.

What I put earlier in the other thread:

I've seen someone mention Adama Diakhaby from Huddersfield, played at the start of the season for them but hasn't been seen since much since Cowley came in and hasn't played at all since November (Nixon also mentioned he rates the player but his manager doesn't). Also played for Rennes around the time Sabri was manager although they might have just missed each other.

Having looked since I think they did just miss each other.

Nothing says "serious about promotion" like signing attacking rejects yet to score this season, from a club fighting relegation

Seriously though he's been frozen out at Udders for his attitude, and I think he cost them 8m. Would be a big gamble at anything near that price.

Nottingham's dirty secret
We desperately need pace. He has it in abundance so would add another dimension to our play that we've desperately been lacking in. However, Udders fans also reckon he has no end product so might not be the best choice in terms of increasing the number of chances we create. If we got someone like Murray in it'd be great to add a winger with s decent cross on him.

On the fence on this one as it could go either way.

He looks f***ing fast and if he's having a rough time of it, hopefully a change of club will get him back to his Monaco form.

First glance looks uninspiring, not many goals in his back catalogue either.

More than happy to trust the clubs judgement, Id have advocated more of a banker, but look how shit Adomahs been.

From Adomah to Adama?

There are two ways to look at this, if indeed it happens. If this is THE transfer of a winger, it may show lack of ambition (i.e. lack of a transfer budget big enough to spell out clearly "we're all in for promotion"). The very fact, however, that in the most blatant gap in the starting eleven (in my view at least) the choice seems uninspiring allows for the thought that you may be looking for two wingers, or for a backup for Grabban who can also play at the wings.

Ameobi, Grabban, Lolley, with Adama, A. Striker, Adomah as backup looks uninspiring; quality goal-scoring winger, Grabban, Lolley, with Ameobi, A. Striker, Adama as backup, or Winger / Striker, Grabban, Lolley with Ameobi, Adama, Mighten as backup looks more promising.

I miss his ability to fly down the wing and then cross the ball over the top of the Bridgeford end into the car park

Despite watching all the greats since the early 70's , Franz Carr was probably my favourite. Feels like a guilty pleasure.

I'm excited about this.

I remember him first game of the season against Derby and was thinking, 'this kids got something'. He was driving through Derby's midfield like a knife through butter.

Uninspiring on the face of it, but so were Lolley and Antonio when we signed them and they didn't do too badly.

He clearly has something about him, if he signs we just have to trust that Sabri is able to get the best out of him.

At the very least, I'm sure he'll offer us much more than Adomah

A wide player doesn't need to be a world beater to improve our team, they just need to offer something different. A player with pace would open a whole new dimension to our attack.

If he had output (final ball and goals) then he would be out of our reach. There is raw talent. His moves for big money were too early. Very similar to Burke for us.

On loan I would do it. Would hate for Adomah to still be in the squad ahead of Mighten though because of it.

Start Lolley & Adama/Ameobi with Ameobi/Adama and Mighten on the bench would be grand.

This!

Any player with genuine pace, disregarding the quality of the end product, gives the defending team a difficult choice. Forest don’t have that absolute team-speed anywhere, yet.

This lad looks to have it in buckets.
