A wide player doesn't need to be a world beater to improve our team, they just need to offer something different. Anplayer with pace would open a whole new dimension to our attack.

People say the no end product, no brain, bad attitude about grosiki at Hull. Pace scares defenders, unpredictable can be good especially in our one paced team. This lad has recently gone for decent money so can’t be that bad. Also as others have said SL seems to be a good man manager, maybe even more so to a young French lad stuck in a rut in Huddersfield with the pub manager cowley bros.

If folk aren't bothered about attitude, Marcus Maddison would be a more sensible gamble if we're buying not loaning.

Cheaper, has everything this kid as + goals.

Piss funny how Maddisons "bad eggness" was unforgivable, yet no one other than me has mentioned it about this lad. Maddison hasn't been frozen out their squad, this lad has been frozen out of Udders by Cowley.

This!

Any player with genuine pace, disregarding the quality of the end product, gives the defending team a difficult choice. Forest don’t have that absolute team-speed anywhere, yet.

This lad looks to have it in buckets.

Exactly. If he does some of those things in the video semi-regularly then he adds loads to what we got. Obviously he hasn't played for a little while and confidence may be a bit low so we got to remember that.

They said Adama Traore of Wolves was all pace, no end product. Look how much he's improved.

Longer video. He played as a striker at Rennes too in a rotating front 3. France u21 international. They basically produce talent to have 2 u21 squads that can challenge most nations.

Cheaper, has everything this kid as + goals. Prob get Mads for 1-2m, this lad cost Udders a rumoured 8-9m in only 2018.

Is this lad a bad egg or in a rut? Not sure. What is wrong with Maddison? Attitude on the pitch probably ok. Is he a bit of a twat?

"Huddersfield manager Dan Cowley who came in part way through the season has frozen out 4 players from the squad and put them up for transfer. These being Adama Diakhaby, Isaac Mbenza, Terence Konkolo and Reece Brown. This is due to attitude rather than ability and even though Huddersfield have had a mini injury crisis they have still not featured in the squad in recent weeks."
These players have all arrived in the last two summers and for mostly big money apart from Reece Brown who was a free transfer.

Much of a muchness to me.

Maddison would prob be cheaper but has 9 goals, 6 assists from 22 games (albiet at a lower level)

Adama would prob be more expensive yet only has 0 goals, 2 assists from 18 games this season.

Depends on a lot of things such as price-tag, whether we're loaning or not etc, but let's not kids our-selves, this lad hasn't done anything significant since coming to Udders & has a rep as a bad egg.

Sab could turn that round, but if he can then he prob could with Maddison for far less too.

Hell, I'd get both & double our chances if we're confident Sab is an attitude changer. it's just a few days ago when I suggested Maddison, bringing anyone to the club with a questionable attitude was deemed a big no-no. Now suddenly the club are rumoured to be doing that, it's fine

Got to ask with Posh's willingness to sell why has no Champ team fully committed to him, Alf. He is now 26 year-old.

Diakhaby has played against some of the best defenders in the world already.

It's a fair concern, but then why has Cowley frozen this kid out the squad? Maddison hasn't been. :dunno:

And he's not done anything significant in this league all season though mate, regardless of who he's played against.

Very odd IMO. If we're going for this lad, we may as well edge our bets and take a cheap gamble on Mads too.

Maddison has always had question marks over his attitude, not entirely sure why though.

I think we're looking for a winger who can carry the ball long distances, break lines with his running and be a real threat on the counter. Maddison has a quality left foot, but a lot of his contributions come from set pieces. Which is a hugely important part of the game, but not exactly what we're looking for in terms of the style of winger we want to sign.

Interesting that Maddison can't seem to agree terms at the two clubs who've agreed a fee with Posh too.

I'd happily take Maddison, he's a good player and a match winner. We'd still need to sign someone with pace if we brought Maddison in, but he'd be a nice option to have.

Fair enough. I’ve always liked Maddison. Maybe this lad has such a good attitude that he is taking a moral stand against the cowley shithousery:LOL:

I wouldn't worry about him being frozen out of the squad by caveman Cowley. Karanka shipped Worrall out, and we know it has little to do with attitude or ability.

Don’t know anything about him other than what Huddersfield fans say so not going to comment on him but going on what’s been said in this thread if all you need is pace, like people have said in this thread. There must be literally thousands of guys out there we could sign.

Ticks all the boxes with his adaptability. There is obviously talent there. He just needs the right environment and coach to unlock it.

We desparatey need pace so if this guy is cheap than he would a squad berth. We dont want to be signing him though for 5 mill plus and expect him to be a starlet in the team. If we can get him on a loan to buy if we get promoted that would be a decent bit of business.

Nah, I agree mate. I'm just using it as a counterpoint to those who were instantly dismissive of the Maddison suggestion because of his attitude.

I'd take either or for the right price. Neither are players I'd like to see us to spend too much on though.

Decent transfer that as it’s low risk but high reward. It’s sensible albeit unspectacular. I have no qualms with it, we just need to spend some dough on a proven inside forward in my opinion.

Looks like a loan Alf as well so decent business imo. Just hope we go and sign a decent inside forward who can fill in up top. A Rashford type player who can slot into LW and ST.

I've barely any memory of seeing the kid play, but 0 goals in 30 games doesn't have me excited Tbh. Especially with our record in the loan market. The fees good, but cheap is pointless if it's cheap crap as Mir, Muric, Bostock etc. have shown.

We'll just have to see how it goes. We certainly need pace at least. I'm hoping we're edging ourbets, and that we're still gonna sign a quality, proven winger deadline day.
