U21's at The City Ground this afternoon v Swansea, 2.30 kick off.
Free entry.

Is Ollie Burke likely to play?
Do you or anyone think he could be the next one to break into the 1st team squad? Or is it a bit soon yet? Built like a brick privvy so physically he should be up to it I guess.

Under 18s finally getting their luck in front of goal, 3-0 v Charlton and 5-1 v Colchester on Saturday. We deserved far more from the earlier games than we got too but that is the game.

Russell Morris @K155Rusty
Quality win for NFFC U18s away at Colchester. Excellent tempo, good high pressing. 6 secs to win the ball back. Excellent goals too.

Who is Todorov on the bench for the under21s today? Any relation to the legendary Anatoli?

1-3 down to Swansea at half time. Burke scored. Swansea have more pace against Collins Halford et al.

Battered 5-2.
f***, they were good.
The difference between a team who has played together for a few years against our side which came from 3/4 different groups.
Collins is finished, Halford ain't going to Bolton under any circumstances (played dead again) and Dex is getting back to fitness.
They really were just too good for us today.

Tyler played right back? Fenners left back against a really good, quick player and Reira had no chance with Collins next to him.

Oliver Burke and Josh Tees looked decent. Willy and Otim struggled to get into the game.

The subs all looked ok when they came on.

Nothing to get high or low about today, they were just to good for our patched up side.

On to the next game.

There were away fans there. Can you imagine driving from Swansea to watch the under 21s?

Re: U-21/U-19 Development Thread

I think it is great that we get to watch the Under 21s on a dreary Monday afternoon for free. My major problem with it is that none of the bars are open. I always miss the beginning of the second half whilst walking back from the TBI.
The team today was missing a lot of the talent that was on display against Millwall last time I went. Several were rested after the Spurs game. Swansea had so much more pace than we did. Every time there was a race to the ball between their attackers and our defenders they won hands down.
I cheered loudly each time we scored and felt a bit of a wally. Everyone else just politely claps.

Natalay Todorov came on for the second half. His major moment was an attempted overhead bicycle kick which went completely wrong. He played as a centre forward and did try to worry their keeper. I could not understand why Tyler Walker played as a right back.

Josh McDonald had the best move of the game in the second half. Took on and beat two of their defenders. He is Australian apparently.
