July 2019 Summer Transfer Window - Plans, Rumours and Speculation

Up-Front
Wouldn't like to see Lolley up front personally, he's much more dangerous running at the opposition from deep. Beats 2/3 men every time he's on the ball. You dont want that ability too high.

The amount of times he picks the ball deep though, beats 2 or 3 and then gets fouled and we do f*** all with the dangerous free kick....

That’s one thing I’d really like to see us work on this year. Having different strategies for attacking set pieces. Its priceless in the Championship.

It's a symptom of the style of manager, under AK and MW we were useless but under MON we did quite well.

Yates, Murphy, Benalouane all scored from corners/free kicks from Feb.

Fair point, he is undoubtedly Briliant at that. I'd like to see us try him I the striker role in preseason to see how it looks though to see whether it's a viable option in some games if we need to use it.

It looks as though Silva is capable of putting quality balls in from those areas that Lolley wins them so hopefully he's going to address that woefully disappointing area.

OK, here's a link for the Post then: https://www.to10.gr/podosfero/superleague/673116/olybiakos-ochi-se-protasi-mamouth-gia-gkigierme/

Last paragraph: According to information from France, the international Algerian Mehdi Zeffane, released from Rennes, is a transfer target for Nottingham Forest and not Olympiacos. In fact, they say that it is very probable that the two sides will reach an agreement soon.

Modesto must have a long list of full backs ready: you're looking for two of them, we're theoretically not looking for one, but we must be ready in case Koutris (LB) or Elabdellaoui (RB) are sold, as has been rumoured.

Just in case, let me note another name, a left back this time, theoretically linked with us: Milad Mohammadi, Iranian international, 25, he has been playing in Russia for 3 years, also on a free. He hasn't been linked with Forest, but one never knows.

What does it say at the bottom re: Alfa Semedo ? I've seen Wigan and Reading before but seems hints to Forest and now O Jogo

Always lots of talk about defenders and midfielders but it would be great to land an exciting centre forward with a bit of a presence.
Someone who could become a real cult hero.

Where's me hammer?
Be nice to bring some players in that know this league instead of a load of foreign lads who think the opposition here want to watch you play.

Not convinced the Greeks wont continue to make the same mistakes

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Yes but Alfa Semedo not Nelson although that could give you a nice name change if we signed him

Alf-aSemedoBlueJeansandChinosCokePepsiandOreos

Do you mean Alfa Nelson?

Or am I thinking of a wrestler?

We need to sign him for Alf and for the song.
Just need to dream up a scouting report now to show how clever he'll make Sabri look and he's in.
Giz a minute.

I really don't understand the basis for this. You can throw a million examples around of players from abroad who did or didn't make it along with British players from the championship who did or didn't make it. If you have abit of something about you, you will do fine. And anyway our starting line up looks to be

Pants - Played in England for a number of years, 1 1/2 years experience champ level.
Darikwa - Numerous years at champ level.
Robinson - Numerous years at champ level.
Milo - 1/2 a season of experience, but was the best centre half we had when he walked through the door.
Fig - Has he been here 2 seasons now?
Pep - Numerous years.
Silva - None
Lolley - Numerous years.
Ameobi - Numerous years.
Carvallo - 1 year.
Grabben - Numerous years.

So out of a starting 11 our best centre back has 1/2 a year of experience here, Silva has none and Carvallo has 1....

I think a good measure would be the average length of championship experience from teams who got promoted out of this league

I can't be arsed to do the digging, but it would be interesting to see starting 11's of teams promoted over the last few years and how much promotion experience they have.
