Owen Hargreaves?
He was there as a kid as i played against him at 15/16.

Technically from a football point of view, nothing English about him. He and them just let the ball do the work whilst us English lads ran after it like it were the school yard.

Hargreaves is actually a good example, as he developed better in Germany than he probably would have in England.

The Manchester clubs got a better player because of his time at FC Bayern.

Granted he didn’t start his career in England, but his exposure to German football improved him significantly.

He was a better midfielder than Gerrard and Lampard on his day, sadly he was too injured to ever do it for us.

There’s a few young lads come from English clubs to Germany - look out for Jadon Sancho at Dortmund this season too.

How many see sense that being at City as a young player would be nothing but fake promises.

Too eventually force through the move at 17/18 and then show what he is capable for Dortmund immediately shows he can head right to the top if he keeps his focus.

Kevin Keegan & Tony Woodcock both ripped it up in Germany

One of my colleagues, who is a fervent fan of 1. F.C. Köln, often greets me with the missive „ach! Danke für Tony Woodcock!“

Hardly a good example.
One could almost suggest that there isn´t anything british in him other than his parents and pasport.
Born and bred in Canada, went to Germany in age of 16 to Bayern´s youth side. He was 27 when he first kicked a ball in british soil.

The English have good inherent aspersions casting

This kid has got the lot. I’m so excited about what the England team could look like in 4 or 5 years with the likes of Sancho, Foden, Sessegnon etc.

Not a bad place to wind down your career.

Nice. I can see him doing well there.

That’s a good move for him, he will do well there, as the MLS doesn’t demand the physical side of the game (where he suffers a bit) but rewards instead the slower, more technical football.

Revs are a very decent side too.
