Yep - that's basically it.

I'd also bet good money that if he wanted more freedom to set his own path, or to move somewhere else, the club would happily sit down to negotiate a buy out.

The fact he's still turning up for training every day (with easily several million in the bank at this stage) suggests he's just fine with the current situation and wants to extract full value from the contract. Not that I blame him for that, I can't honestly say I'd do any different.

Might be a bit greedy, but the DCM role is critical to get right. Kouyate was really the only player that did that job fairly well last season (when he wasn’t injured) - this year I’d want 2 strong specialist DCM’s in the squad.
So I haven’t given up on one of Fofana, Sangare, Florentino just yet.

It always felt like if we kept Brennan we would get Ndidi & if we sold Brennan we would get Sangare.

I say credit to the club for being ready for both options, we definitely have a deal in place for Ndidi if it is to happen.

With our PIC (Potential for Injury Coefficient) we never have too many defenders/midfielders/attackers.
Shame we can only name 25 squad players plus U21 qualifiers.
