Wigan keen on Lansbury and Mackie - I bet they F**kin' are!

There's that, but I think the one everyone is talking about is when he made the snappy hand gestures signalling everyone was talking about him.

I think both of those can be forgiven because he also did this,

We should be keeping both, although I think Mackie is more replaceable. But his work rate and pressing are useful. With Fryatt and Lars in the team, Mackie is the kind of player that causes defenders to make the type of mistakes that we can capitalise on.

I also agree that of the two, it's easier to replace a Jamie Mackie type player than a Henri Lansbury type player, but why should we have to sell either of them? They both have big roles to play at the club in their different ways. As I've said before I think when injuries kicked in at times, Mackie really stepped up his game and gave us some great performances.

I dislike Mackie intensely. That being said, I can see he has some sort of value to the team (though he's not one of our best players as some seem to think). As Robbie says, if Wigan offer us anything over £2m then we should snap their hands off. There's plenty of work horses available; it's skill and talent that should cost money and actually be praised. It's exhausting when English fans constantly value work rate over ability.

Fucks sake, don't sell Mackie!! He's one of our most passionate and energetic players we have. I think I must be seeing things in him that nobody else is able to, because 9 times out of 10 he's in the top 3 players of any match he plays in.

We've been down this road before and I don't think I'll ever understand why people don't rate Mackie, but if we lost him we'd certainly pay the price and you'd all see how much his contribution to the team would be missed.

He runs a lot and yes he puts a shift in but his footballing ability is limited at best.

couldn't we get someone that runs around a lot but steers clear of the box to leave the gilt edged chances to someone with better eyesight?

Mackie's versatility and general availablity is being overlooked here too. Obviously he's a right side midfielder/forward, but he can cover RB/RWB & a more forward position too, and he was rarely injured last season either.

I wouldn't be comfortable losing Mackie unless we had a replacement lined up tbh. Cox can do a workhorse job, but he's more limited to where he can play too.

Maybe we should start testing player's eyesight during medicals? ;)

purely speculation, but I wonder how much of a galvanizing or disruptive character Mackie is viewed as at the City Ground?

Personally I value his work rate

Id let Mackie go, but definitely wouldn't let Lansbury go regardless of the amount offered.

He worked for Pearce at under 21 and I reckon that should be enough persuasion for him to stay here for another season or 2.

As for Mackie, he is a bag of wank. He has been nothing but a disappointment since he has came in and I don't know where the player who I admired at QPR has gone. Unless he is going to make a major improvement under Pearce, Id let him got for 2.5 million.

Yeah I can really see that " bag of wank " season bumping his value up by 1.5 million

2.5 million for a bag of wank that we paid 1 million for:LOL::LOL::LOL:

I say 2.5 millions because we want to make profit don't we? If they desperate to sign him, pay the price. Simple as.

^^^THIS!

For me Mackie is a far bigger twat on the pitch than Abdoun ever was with his 'f*** off' goal celebration to his team mates and he's abit of a clod in terms of skill, but you can't deny the guys effort on the pitch in terms of work rate and breaking up the oppositions possession. Despite the lack of technical ability he definitely has something to offer and until a better alternative comes along, I'd stick with him.

Be gutted if Lansbury left as for mackie thought he was a better player than I saw last season his distribution crossing and finishing in general weren't great but his effort was top drawer.

I was as mad as the next man with Mackie at the back end of last season, but he has a role to play. He just never gets tired, you can't get rid of that IMO. It's needed at certain points in the season, at certain points in the game - when everyone else is.

If Mackie is on 20k a week, then you have to ask the question that if other clubs are interested in him - could we sign a player that can put a similar shift in with similar versatility on half his wages that isn't a biscuit?

Don't start talking about wages mate!

He comes across as a bit of a dick. I'd be happy to keep him as long as we get another to play in his position. We can then bring mackie in at the hour mark to see out a game.
