Who's next?

Raymondo Ponte'

It's all about mid-table...
No matter what anybody says or maybe thinks otherwise, McCleish is already on borrowed time. I think he's a proud man of sorts, so the debacles of his tenure with the owners are irreparable imo and that doesn't take into account the awful results since he's been here and his unpopularity. He's going make no mistake.

So I simply ask who is next on the steps to the Guillotine? Who would we like to see on the steps next? Would any man take it

I hope it's nobody with a proud history at the club as a player etc. Their name and legacy will only be dragged through the mud if it is. Saying that, I hope McLeish doesn't leave, it would be chaos.

I would say Nigel Adkins, but there's no way such a respectable manager would want to be associated with or have to work with our owners now.

AMC will survive this season, not an issue. He'll get to pick his own team in the summer, then when we're in the bottom half of the table come November, it's bye bye Alex. Trust me. I'm a doctor.

At the moment we need a safe pair of stabilising hands, respected but without the expectations to work miracles, needs to play the game on the floor coupled with an inventive coaching policy......buggered if I know !

Mcleish will undoubtedly be gone by the summer. As much as I want it to work out for him, I just cant see it actually happening.

To succeed AM, I wouldn't mind it being given to someone like Karl Robinson. Very good manager and great motivator in my opinion. Just what we need

I'd second that

He aint going nowhere. He will be here at least until the end of the season. (unless he walks, which wont happen) Then and only then will the owners consider a new manager.
Pointless bringing any one new in now. Like it or loath it, we are stuck with him. Get used to it.

I also can't see us being in a relegation battle either.

We've done the long-term player motivating manager thing already, SOD was it and he got the boot. Now we're in the 'shitty manager who can't manage' phase. Next up is a young blade with plans and probably a goofy accent from a nearby team. Step forward Curly Wurly.

The club is a joke and the owners think they are playing championship manager

If he does go, Billy Davies is the only option. If he does well = everyone happy. If he does shit = No more people asking for billy. Win Win.

Nigel Adkins/Billy Davies/John Pemberton.

One of those three, and I'm happy.

If it was Billy Davies, in an ideal world, I want him to make up with Pemberton.

It says a lot for us as fans that we're constantly clamouring for and expecting sackings; we can't get the stability we all crave with this mentality. The irony is ridiculous.

As far as I'm concerned he's never been the right fit for Forest - him being here has just seemed wrong from day one.

I want him to succeed here because I think more than anything we need some stability. However I think it's becoming clear that he's walked in to a situation that he perhaps doesn't have the skills and fortitude to deal with.

That's not to say that he couldn't be a great manager for us if we were all pulling the same direction and his appointment, by its very nature, wasn't so divisive, but it seems clear that the circumstances are conspiring against him and unless results change the writing it on the wall.

If he walks before the end of the season then I don't think it matters who succeeds him from an immediate point of view as this season is dead and buried - it's unlikely we'll make the playoffs but at the same time it's even more unlikely that we'll be relegated.

However what is clear is that whoever is brought in (should AMc go) needs to be given time to at least start putting a squad together that plays to their vision. If there are any lessons that can be learnt from the events of the last few years it's that changing managers with a short-term view to gaining promotion is not going to bear fruit. It may work for some clubs but it seems clear to me that Forest just doesn't work that way. What we need is to give someone at least two full summer transfer windows (and subsequent seasons) to put together their squad and see where that takes us.

I know that's what happened with Billy and yes he probably got the tactics in the playoffs wrong on both occasions, but what he did for us at least shows what can be achieved when someone gets a proper chance to put a squad together (even though he may not have been backed financially as much as perhaps he could have been).

IMO AMc will see out the season. After that I think there are some serious decisions to be made about who's in charge for the summer transfer window and beyond. Whoever that is they MUST be given time. Whether they will get it is probably the most important question of all.
