Nice to be thought of.Am I alone in seeing the thread title and it bringing back memories of losing my virginity?
Bolton at home, we won 3-2. I think he was coming back from injury. He came on, scored the winner, elbowed a Bolton player in the face and got sent off, all in about 5 minutes.Another vote for Collymore. There were some games where he was like Roy of The Rovers - I'm sure there was one where he came on, scored a cracker after a great run, then got sent off a few minutes later. Frank Clark deserves more recognition in our history.
Sadly I also remember the hype about Andrea Silenzi.

Same for me. First name I had on a shirt.Bryan Roy I think
I’m sure is was against Sheff Utd. He came on after a suspension, Frank Clark got him on in the second half scored soon after coming on with an incredible run from half way line..yep sent off seconds after lolAnother vote for Collymore. It is something of an open secret that Stan Collymore is actually a member of this forum.I’m sure is was against Sheff Utd. He came on after a suspension, Frank Clark got him on in the second half scored soon after coming on with an incredible run from half way line..yep sent off seconds after lol
Stan, if you’re reading this (you never know) I’d love his view on that game lol.
Hope he was gentle.Am I alone in seeing the thread title and it bringing back memories of losing my virginity?

Yeah, I was thinking similar (having first gone to a game in 83/84 and already been a Forest fan a bit before that, although I called our returned-from-Man United striker Garry Birkles apparently back then). I don't think there was so much speculation, so we got to know the players more after they had signed (plus Forest used to sign plenty of players from lower leagues and bring through youth players etc).Difficult one to answer, I started going in 86/86 but until the early 90's there was never really any speculation about potential signings, they just rocked up and it was done as far as I remember. I guess it would have to be Collymore, who I knew we were linkied with in Cloughies last season and Frank Clarke managed to get him for 2m. Bryan Roy was BIG news, just had a great world cup with Holland too. These days kids know before the player does!
Harry Arter was also a big deal!
Yep Phil BrownBolton wasn’t it?
Me too. I hoped Slim Jim would make us invincible.James Curran Baxter. I thought he'd take the 66/67 team to the next level but instead it was to the next bar
Joao Carvalho.
No you are not. However, it gives me the chance of telling about losing my virginity. It was in Kenilworth Road Luton. Not the football stadium but the road the football ground is located on. Hence I have always had a soft spot for The Hatters.Am I alone in seeing the thread title and it bringing back memories of losing my virginity?
I hope it was somewhat warmer than on my first visit to Kenilworth Road in January 1976.No you are not. However, it gives me the chance of telling about losing my virginity.
