Again today I don’t care about much but why are they checking lines in VAR? The linesman didn’t have his flag up, it didn’t look offside. It is as if they just try everything to rule a goal out.

They check every goal for offside don't they? It's part of the law I think.

It looked close to me in real time.

Why though? It wasn’t flagged. It clearly wasn’t offside when you watched it again. Same with Liverpool’s second goal tonight. With both these goals they held the game up for a var line drawing farce when there was no need.

I think the linesmen just flag if they THINK it's offside but I think they check regardless so not sure why they bother either way.
