Wasn't as bad as some say but wasn't really what we needed either.

Now let's get him over to ex-players lol

I reckon I've read 3 clubs consider him in their top 5 worst players ever and that doesn't include us.

Celtic and Birmingham were two. Can't remember who the other was or if there was another.

I guess it can only be them, Blackpool or Man Utd. :D

I just randomly remember when I searched his name in twitter a few weeks back. Fans still talk about him from those clubs.

No problem with us clearing the decks, although it probably adds another to the list of what's needed, as I thought he'd do a job as back up LB/LCB.

Given that he was due to be injured throughout August anyway and the club obviously aim to bring in a new left back, I can't say I'm particularly bothered he left. Not dreadful, but no great loss either and it's another wage off the bill.

Tyler Blackett is a solid enough pro, but was only ever going to be a squad player and a highly paid one at that.

Describing him as deadwood would be slightly harsh, but he was exactly the type of signing Forest shouldn't be making and actively looking to offload.

Although it leaves us slightly light in the LCB/LB area, the freed up wages are more valuable to the club than the player and can either be reallocated to loan signings or booked as savings in the coming season's accounts.

Good luck to the lad in the US: perfect opportunity and final payday for him.

"Rooney has mentioned James Garner...." What!?!

He may as well be mentioning Messi, just as likely as him getting Garner in Derby's current situation. Derby are in no position to bring in anyone other than absolute bottom of the barrel signings.

As it stands we must either be going 3 at the back or possibly playing Colback as LB. Bong shouldn't be anywhere near the squad even with no LB's

Stop with the exaggeration. Bong is the only LB left, so of course he should be near the squad, he's paid to pay football and right now we need him until such time we get reinforcements....

Why is it an exaggeration? He's absolutely awful. Have you seen his performances for us? There are any many footballers paid to play, it doesn't mean they deserve to be anywhere near a matchday squad.

i imagine fernandez will act as cover for mckenna at lcb and soh as rcb for worrall unless forest send them out on loan for some experience.

I thought this season we might be tempted to use Bong at LB to begin with with Blackett returning after his injury. The fact that we've sold or released most of our LBs now suggests we are definitely getting someone in for LB and Bong will be cover.
If Taylor leaves, I think the same about our goalscoring options. No need to panic, I think there is a definite plan.

I could see this happening, Rooney obviously has very strong connections to Man Utd and I could see them helping him out with a favourably structured loan deal.

Why would they throw their brightest prospects into an absolute relegation dog fight under the cloud of an impending takeover that’s never going to happen with a manager that proved even with a full deck of cards he was only 1 goal away from being relegated last season - even with Wednesday being 12 points behind to start off with?

Lampard at Derby was very different - he had Jody Morris, who had worked with all of the players they brought in from Chelsea for years in the academy.

Of course I’ve seen his performances which have varied from pretty good at times to poor. Rather like Christie he is far better going forward and not so
Good in defence… I never saw a player that didn’t care or was taking the piss just an aging middle of the road championship left back or tge sort we probably shouldn’t have signed.
Of course I’d rather see psycho in his prime there but if faced with choice between him and Soh if Colback I’d go with him until we get another left back which we desperately need.
