Seems like a mixture of reviews. Sounds like he is another who can play CB and LB and is decent aerially, which is important for us.

He played as a winger in his younger days I think at Utd, so hopefully some attacking quality in there if he does end up at LB. Boy we need more quality from our full-backs into the box.

Always been a defender. Probably more a centre-back who can play left-back. They also had Cameron Borthwick-Jackson who was left-back when Blackett was centre-back in FA Youth Cup teams. van Gaal both gave them their chance or Blackett might have got his from Moyes.

The concern for me is he can be clumsy and I don't think he is the best at sniffing danger. The better defenders are more pro-active than re-active and I don't think he his massively quick -more middling speed.

There is no way a football man would swap Fox for Blackett considering how well Fox did on the whole for us at CB

Think the deals got more going for it than that to be fair. Blacketts the right age, he's a unit wj=ho gets alot of success in the air & he can clear his lines. Fox is getting on, his body is weakening & he doesnt necessarily meat the MON criteria given we're not playing out from the back anymore.

We're coming at things from a different angle now.

I like him, others don’t. Much improved this year. Was a bit of a scape goat last year. Better at central defence than left back.

Younger version of Fox but with less tattoos

Haha good old Forest arrogance.

That'll be Reading who've finished in a higher average league position than Forest over the past twenty years...

Robinson came from QPR and he's been pretty good.

We need defensive bodies, for 500k he'll fill that role and hopefully not be as nackard as Fox is now.

He's no worse than Julian Watts, and MON got promoted with him pissed out his brain at CB

After the meltdown when we signed Benalouane and the starting XI announcement before the Wigan game, you'd think people wouldn't be so quick to write players off or jump to conclusions but here we are.

As far as all those saying that Danny Fox is better, you can probably find comments about Fox on here from not so long ago that are similar to the ones Reading fans about Blackett now.

He's obviously no world beater, but I'll give him a chance before writing him off. He's not going to cost the earth and covers two positions where we are short on numbers. Young enough to still learn and improve possibly as well.

Played at all youth levels for England too.

Now Fox has gone, we need another scapegoat so he'd be perfect.

4 assists from 20 appearances last season, mainly coming from LB.

Had his best season in Readings near miss under Jaap Stam
