I picked a great time to grow old. For years I've said I hope I live long enough to see us win the FA Cup again, but when that idea became a bit remote, I modified it to promotion to the Prem.

Now we've done it I won't get to see the team play on that hallowed turf.

But I've had a smile on my face all morning since the fixtures came out, so it's worth it just for the pleasure it's given. I feel 21 again.

I could have written that too VP.

Our next objective could be to stay in the Premiership for another year.

Come to think of it we could go on with this forever.

It’s what keeps us young.😄

Nothing but clingers on though.

They have spent years pissing about, it should have been done years ago.

Then they released the statement when we went up saying how great this is for the city. Yet they are playing a role in stunting our growth.

Yep. Forest have missed out on thousands of season ticket sales this summer because of this.

It’s great having an owner who is a proper football fan and understands the significance of us playing at the City Ground.

You could guarantee if we were taken over by some American consortium they’d have built some out of town soulless bowl in a retail park like Pride Park.

I wonder if there are plans also in place for a new Brian Clough stand should we establish ourselves in the prem.

A point that I hope the club are making in absolutely no uncertain terms.

These tinpot pound shop local politicians are holding back the club, and the city itself.

If we did have to move then has anyone got a map available showing possible locations that have either been talked of in the past or that might be possibles if we threw enough money at current occupiers?

Not a map - but the sites being discussed 10-20 years ago were:
- Clifton Pasture - South of Clifton and West of the A453 - Got as far as being announced and concept art published. Now being developed under the name Fairham, so will soon be unavailable if it's not already.
- East Side - East of London Road and North of the Railway Line. Difficult because it has an abandoned but listed Railway Warehouse in the middle of the site, and subsequent new developments on the Northern/Western edges of the site make it impossible to build a stadium avoiding the Warehouse.
- Eastcroft - East of London Road and South of the Railway Line. Currently home to a council depot, which could be moved, but the depot site by itself may not be large enough. Allegedly was the City Councils preferred location but the club weren't keen.
- Gamston - Various points East of the A52 were talked about, and I think they're all still Greenbelt land which is an obstacle.

The only obvious (and not miles from anywhere) site I can think of that wasn't discussed at the time would be the old Soap Factory site next to Wilkinson Street Tram stop.

I would definitely consider it, plus you have a lot of room behind it to expand!

I notice that the first document in 8 months was uploaded to the planning permission site a couple of week ago. Just nice to see something change on there.

The doc? A Historic Environment Assessment. Forest leaving no stone unturned.

At what point do we all turn up with burning torches and pitchforks at the council offices? Seems like someone needs a nudge

If Mr Marinakis is comparing this to getting planning permission in Greece it's a walk in the park. If someone finds a broken vase on a site there the whole bloody job stops. I've lost track of how many years have gone by when they wanted to develop the old Athens airport into a business park.

I think this was the survey Danny Taylor mentioned regarding that the site was checked to ensure it wasn’t a historic graveyard or artefacts. Still no sign of cousin Omar though!

Hope they have the planning team out of the other windows also.... Having now dealt with them on a small and very simple shop front matter, it took 2 years to resolve....

Genuine Question - With 40,000 fans travelling to Wembley and possibly another 5,000 tickets that genuinely could have been sold, along with Premiership football - to what Capacity could we make the CG, or would it make sense to demolish and rebuild with a larger capacity. (I am sure it would be possible)

Pretty sure most buildings will have to have an archeological report done nowadays.

The HS2 railway alone finds stuff all the time, they have their own archeologists because it finds so much - just going through fields that used to be old settlements.

But it would be typical of Forest to find a lost Anglo-Saxon kings palace on the site of the City Ground or a dead King in the car park.

I’d go 50,000 if only to wind Lester up. East Midlands main stadium in East Midlands main city should be 50k. Just not sure how easy it would be to achieve. If I had a magic wand I’d like to push the whole stadium slightly in from the river (making better use of the extra riverside space created) and further towards Lady bay a bit, but that would mean all sorts of land infringements and other stuff. But at moment build it and they will come. I reckon there’s about 10k additional season ticket holders waiting to pick up the phone.
