This whole thread has seen me spend hours online looking at past Forest players. Can anyone recommend some literature on the pre-70's Forest?

Second Lichaj's post and also "and the ref was called Clough" which is a chronicle of the '59 Fa Cup run

We have the Capital FM Arena booked until Sunday, and have no tournament games planned for the next two days. So the pitch is available for hire for any Forest Through the Ages related exhibitions. Pictures are still available on the red button. Fans will be required to keep score themselves.

We have one exhibition game booked for 2.30pm to 5pm - GARYS v PLAYERS WHOSE NAMES WE CAN ONLY FIND ONE OF. All other time slots are available.

Just an idea but do you reckon we can have a team of Scotts (with illegal fielding of a GK upfront) versus a team of Scottish internationals?

Scotts v Scots?

Any exhibition games can be kicked off any any time by anybody. The organizers have only requested that exhibition games are played within the spirit of the fabulous small-sided games we have witnessed so far, and so no player is brought back from the past merely for ridicule.

GARYS v PLAYERS WHOSE NAMES WE CAN ONLY FIND ONE OF this afternoon will be a rush keepers match.

Right, earlier than expected as I'm bored.

It may get thrown out by the European Court of law mid-match, but I imposed an early nineties-style limit in the number of non-British and Irish players allowed in the team at any one time. That limit is one and Einar Aas starts for the PLAYERS WHOSE NAMES WE CAN ONLY FIND ONE OF.

Is there more than one Grenville or should Morris get a last minute game?

Dubious. Technically an Arthur Morris, but it's allowed.

Rolling subs. Anybody fan make them in this exhibition game. Only so many players could fit on the bench, but there are others kitted up stands.

Ah yes - the Arthur bit might make the Garys object. Been passed a report by World Soccer (otherwise known as a page of one their articles - but can't post it on forestforum as exceeds allowed size) that says he and Lindley were two of Forest's 3 great legends pre 1959 along with Frank Forman.

Anyway, the much antipacted Gary's create the first chance with a 5 man move but 'Spider' Anderson uses his top half limbs to great effect to stretch and catch Parker's attempted lob. Then a 5 man move of their own for the unique name team as he bowls it to Aas who play it up to West to lay it off for Black who then plays Lindley in to sprint in between Mills and Charles (still deciding who should stay back as rush keeper) and tap home.

As good a rush keepers team the GARYS are, they can't beat these. You have to wonder whether it was worth the wait for the GARYS. Charles' calamitous backpass to nobody is tapped in by West.

2-0

I think GARYS are already done.

I think we can all agree here these GARYS weren't worth the wait. Exhibition games aren't in my contract. I'm off.

Something has come up for the commentary team. The game continues on the red button. Please feel free to add your own commentary as you watch.

It's a shame we've never had a Tito as we could've had a Jackson Five memorial team otherwise! (If we ignore the later addition of Randy - but then we could just put Reidy in there! )

I think there is a new 'Black Spider' taking over as historys greatest (rush) goalkeeper:

Or are the goals too small?

Or are the Garys not bothering to try to score?
