The Kieran Dowell appreciation thread

Good signing for the Sheep, IMO.

Possibly. But only if the make everything right for him.

That's what I saw in his time here - if anything wasn't right - if he wasn't played in the right position, given the right balls at the right time, or if someone gave him a kick early on - then he was a waste of a shirt.

But when he was good, he was very good.

Yeah I don't disagree with that.

He is a good player, but definitely needs to be backed.

Not that bothered. Never going to set the world alight, Derby are welcome to him.

This is how I feel. They’ve lost Mount and replaced him with a worse player. The same will likely happen with Tomori’s replacement. Fill yer boots Derby.

I wasn't bothered when he got benched by us and I'm not bothered that he's gone to Derby. Good player in flashes but doesn't show enough consistently for me. I think he'll slide slowly down the leagues as he gets older. Definitely a downgrade for the sheep.

Definitely a downgrade but I wonder if there is an option of a purchase. If so then Derby can back him (as Steve Stone said). If he is your own you are more likely to preserve and build the team up to suit him.

Good move for him. Handy player who can be a nightmare for teams on his day.

Closest thing to majewski we've had since the magic pole left.

Yes he is but he would be awful in our system. He would have to run around alot and get amongst it and he isnt very quick on the counter. He is much more a Karanka player than a Lamouchi one.

Yet Karanka dropped him.

Great signing for them he has come on alot during his spell at Wigan. If they can get over the hangover of being woefully inept in the prem Norwich should walk this league next season.

Strange that isnt it maybe he just wasnt working hard enough at the time who knows? Karanka loves a good number 10 thats his signature as a manager.

Maybe he didn't want a little boy but then they signed Carvalho... He's what 23 now and still looks almost the other side of 15 so maybe he won't bulk out to get the strength he really needs.

He looks like Patrik Berger's little brother from the under 17s with that hair band and pencil arms

5 goals 2 assists in 12 games for Wigan. 10 goals for us. Lad's got it in him.

A Warbs era Dowell would. But the current post-Wilder, post Wigan Dowell, 2 seasons on, older, wiser, stronger & approaching his peak? Not do sure tbh.

I'd certainly sooner have him on our bench than Diakhaby or Carvalho. Fee "Undisclosed" too. So doubt it's been a major investment too.

He lost form at the wrong time here. AK came in, Dowell was struggling and within a few weeks we'd signed about 8 new players.

Not sure on the fee but I hope he does well. There's been some decent Championship players come out of that Everton generation.
